Description:
Newly Added Main Functions

* Added RAW support for the following models
* Now supports PowerShot G9 , EOS 40D and EOS-1Ds Mark III. Added functions used when printing an image per page.
1. It is now possible to insert characters into images.
2. It is now possible to select the font (outlined characters or a font reminiscent of the font used in film cameras) for the shooting date/time.
* Changed the User Interface for the function of downloading images from a card reader.
Also added support for writing images back to a memory card using a card reader.

Corrections/Changes

* Fixed the operation of date separators with [Advanced Setting], which is for inserting the shooting date/time when printing.
* Fixed the phenomenon wherein changing the date separators with [Advanced Settings] does not work in some cases when inserting the shooting date/time. Fixed the operation of setting owner's name in CameraWindow DC 7.0.
Fixed the phenomenon wherein setting the owner's name in the camera using double-byte characters other than Japanese or single-byte characters other than ASCII text; those letters were converted to different characters for registration in CameraWindow DC 7.0.

Precautions

* To EOS DIGITAL camera users
If you are using the following EOS DIGITAL cameras, please use EOS Utility with this version of ZoomBrowser EX. (EOS Utility is an application for connecting to EOS Digital cameras, controlling them from a PC, and taking remote shots. )

EOS Utility compatible models:
EOS 1Ds Mark III, EOS 40D, EOS-1D Mark III, EOS 400D, EOS-1D, EOS-1Ds, EOS-1D Mark II, EOS-1Ds Mark II, EOS-1D Mark II N, EOS 5D, EOS 10D, EOS 20D, EOS 20Da, EOS 30D, EOS 300D, EOS 350D, EOS D30, EOS D60

* To users of ZoomBrowser EX 2.x/3.x:
o In order to update to ZoomBrowser EX 5.8, it is necessary that ZoomBrowser EX 2 or 3 is already installed on the target computer.
o It is necessary to transfer the database files as follows:
If you want to display the titles and comments added with ZoomBrowser EX 2 or 3 on ZB 4 or 5, you will need to convert the database file used in EX 2 or 3 for use with ZoomBrowser EX 4 or 5 before using these applications for the first time.
Please note that if ZoomBrowser EX 4 or 5 is used before this conversion, the titles, comments, sound annotation information added with ZoomBrowser EX 2 or 3 will be erased.

Instructions
1. From the Start menu, select All Programs -> Accessories -> Explorer to start up Windows Explorer.
2. Open the Program folder under the folder in which ZoomBrowser EX 4 or 5 is installed.
3. Double-click dbconverter.exe (or dbconverter) within that folder.
4. Specify the database file that you have been using and click the Start button
(Example: C:Program FilesCanonZoomBrowser EXDatabaseMy Database.zbd)
5. When a message appears indicating that the database conversion is complete, click OK.

o Restrictions of Database File Conversion
There are restrictions regarding the folder under the Program Files folder.
In ZoomBrowser EX 4 or 5, folders under Program Files folder are not displayed. Therefore the images within the Library One folder, which was standard in ZoomBrowser EX 2 or 3, cannot be viewed in ZoomBrowser EX 4 or 5.
In order to view images within the Library One folder, please move the image files to a location outside of Program Files using tools such as Windows Explorer.

Note: Please move the folders after converting the database file.

o RAW Image Converter 1.x cannot be started from ZoomBrowser EX
