SPECIAL NOTICE:

As a friendly reminder that you don't have to download each version of the the firmware and upgrade on your device one by one. Only the latest version is required.
Please be aware the device might be broken if power down during upgrading. Please be careful about the charger. The original charger is highly recommended for upgrade, better in car environment with power on situation. If you upgrade at home, please aware of the power adaptor can provide sufficient 5V/1A output. Please avoid using mobile phone USB charger which offer less than 5V/1A output. Insufficient power supply might lead to upgrade failure. 

Upgrade Steps:

STEP1: Please make sure the file you downloaded is v2.2G with instruction manual. File name: sd_vico_OP2.bin. The file size is about 30MB.
STEP2: Copy sd_vico_OP2.bin into your Micro SD card. (Special Notice: Do Not put into any folder, just the root of your Micro SD card)
STEP3: Insert the Micro SD card into Vico-Opia2, power on by USB cigar car charger in car. Auto recording will be activated normally after power-on. And press UPPER key button to enter the MENU → System
STEP 4: (IMPORTANT STEP) In the system menu, choose SW Upgrade and press “OK” Then choose “Yes” and press “OK”
STEP5: Screen will show Updating. Please wait for 10 seconds. DO NOT power off Opia2 while upgrading. Device will show confirmation display and reboot automatically after upgrading successfully.

About Digital Camera Firmware:

Updating to a newer firmware version than the one already installed on your camera can improve the device’s overall performance and stability, resolve various issues, and add support for newly developed features or enhance existing ones.

On the other hand, downgrading the camera’s firmware can recover its functionality in the unlikely event the currently installed version is faulty or the device’s performance dropped after an upgrade. However, bear in mind that applying an earlier build might not always be possible.

However, each device has various ways to enter the update mode and particular steps that should be taken for a successful upgrade, therefore make sure you read the product’s installation guide.
