Pelco Sarix IL10 IP Camera Firmware 1.8.2.6 Description

New Features and Improvements

- Sarix IL10 cameras now support Endura presets for optimized operation with the Endura system.

Major Fixes

- Corrected the issue of a blank page being displayed while navigating to the camera web page.
- Corrected issues preventing taking a snapshot in Internet Explorer® 8. Previously, using Internet Explorer 8, the capture would be the same after clicking the “Take a Snapshot” button several times.

Operational Issues

- The SetVideoEncoderConfiguration call initiates but the camera does not conform to the new setting request.
- If an NTP server is not available, and the time difference between Digital Sentry software and the IL10 camera is greater than five minutes, video is not detected by the Digital Sentry software.

UPGRADING FIRMWARE FROM CAMERA WEB INTERFACE:

1. Use Internet Explorer to access the camera via its IP address.
2. Click on the Login link in the upper right corner of the page and then enter credentials for the administrator.
3. Click Settings and then navigate to the Firmware page under the System menu.
4. Click Browse to select the firmware file and then click Upload.
The camera will install the updated firmware and then restart. The firmware update process typically takes up to 5 minutes to complete.

About Network Camera Firmware:

Updating to a newer firmware version than the one already installed on your network camera can improve the device’s overall performance and stability, resolve various issues, and add support for newly developed features or enhance existing ones.

On the other hand, downgrading the camera’s firmware can recover its functionality in the unlikely event the currently installed version is faulty, or the device’s performance dropped after an upgrade. However, bear in mind that applying an earlier build might not always be possible.

Changing the camera’s firmware must be performed when the new release resolves an issue that your device has encountered or adds a new feature (or enhances an existing one) that could prove useful to you.

As for the installation method, the steps vary depending on the model you own, but basically, you must connect your camera via an Ethernet cable (username and password required), and use the downloadable file in the Firmware Update section to upgrade your device. Make sure you do not interrupt the installation process.

However, make sure you carefully read and understand the installation steps so that you don’t end up with a broken device. This process isn’t intended to be destructive, but still, it’s best to save all configurations before applying a different firmware.
