The system software update files are then loaded through the USB memory port on the front of the oscilloscope. Updating the .ads File
1. Insert the USB memory device containing the software update in the USB port on the front of the oscilloscope.
2. Press the front panel Utility button.
3. Press the Next Page menu option button to navigate to menu page 3/4. Select the Update Firmware menu option button.
4. Press the SINGLE front panel button to begin loading the .ads firmware update file from your USB memory device. Otherwise, press the RUN/STOP front panel button to exit the Update Firmware screen.
5. Locate the .ads firmware update file, select it, and then press the Load option button.
6. The oscilloscope then beeps aloud twice and shows a screen stating - The firmware has been updated completely, please boot up the DSO again. At this point, turn your oscilloscope power Off, wait a short while, and then power it On again.
When the oscilloscope has rebooted, your update is complete.
Applying a newer firmware version than the one already installed on your unit can bring various enhancements, include workarounds for diverse problems encountered by the device, and improve or add newly developed features.
