Added and Modified Features

Amazon S3:

- Uploading files larger than 5 GB is now supported.

LVM:

- Modified formatting for drives with LVM enabled is not available. To format drives with LVM, disable LVM first.

iSCSI:

- VAAI (compatible with VMWare vSphere 5.0 or later) is now supported.
- File I/O and block I/O are now selectable from "Backstore" in Settings.
- Added "File I/O Write Sync" when the LVM volume is working in file I/O mode
- Added "Thin Provisioning" when the LVM volume is working in file I/O mode
- IQN is now displayed in volume settings. Individual IQNs for each iSCSI volume are available in 'Drives'- 'iSCSI'.
- The default setting is now "Asynchronous". To change it to "Synchronous", go into "Advanced Settings" while creating volumes.

Windows Network:

- An updated version of Samba is now used.
- The SMB2 protocol will be disabled after updating the firmware with external authentication enabled.
- Removed the "Use Windows domain controller as authentication server" option from external authentication.

Backup:

- Updated rsync and improved the reliability of backup operations.
- Added 'Ignore backup errors and continue backup job on schedule'
- Added 'Create backup log files'

Replication:

- "Run Complete Resync" and "Run Differential Resync" buttons have been replaced by a single button in replication.

Failover:

- The main TeraStation goes into maintenance mode when it shuts down.
- LAN port 2 is now available for data transfer if LAN port 1 is configured for failover.
- The backup TeraStation can now replace the main TeraStation manually if the main TeraStation has failed.
- Modified recovery from maintenance mode by pressing the function button.
- Added an option to sync the backup TeraStation from the main TeraStation's Settings while failover is configured.
- Unsynced data is now counted from Settings while failover is working.
- A log of replication activity is now available for export to a Syslog server.

Surveillance Camera:

- Volumes smaller than 200 GB, such as LVM volumes, cannot be configured as the target folder for surveillance cameras.

System:

- Modified the timer settings for clarity. For example, "Every day" is now "Daily" and "27:00" is now "3:00 of the next day".
- Daily email reports now contain MAC addresses.
- WebAccess Remote and Amazon S3 are now available simultaneously. However, using the same shared target folder is required.
- Colons (:) in external DNS and IP address fields are now supported.
- Improved compatibility of Settings.
- The SMB path for Mac OS is now displayed when the initial setup wizard is finished.

Bug Fixes:

Windows Network:

- Fixed the bug where only the file owner could change the file authority for files copied from Explorer.
- Fixed the bug where the trashbox name is sometimes displayed as ".recycle" instead of "trashbox".
- Modified to deal with a vulnerability (CVE-2013-4124).
- Fixed the bug where an inappropriate message was displayed after changing the Samba settings.
- Fixed the bug where the offline files feature did not work properly.

WebAccess:

- Fixed the bug where the group authority for files uploaded via WebAccess was not correct.
- Fixed a message when configuring WebAccess with DNS blank.

Replication and Failover:

- Fixed the bug where the replication failure error (I33) was displayed when switching to maintenance mode.
- Fixed the bug where failover could not be reconfigured if had failed.
- Fixed the bug where a "No reply" error was displayed when multiple replication tasks were deleted at once.
- Fixed the bug where media cartridges could not be set as replication targets.
- Fixed the bug where resyncing replication failed if files with "%n" in their filename were included.
- Modified to save replication logs and failover logs in the system log file ("messages" file).
- Fixed the bug where the replication failure error (I33) was displayed when updating the firmware of a TeraStation with failover configured from 2.40 or earlier to 2.40 or later.

Drives:

- Fixed the bug where a drive was not detected after bing dismounted.
- Fixed the bug where media cartridges displayed a status of "failed" while being recognized.
- Fixed the bug where the status of a hot spare was not displayed properly when initializing the TeraStation from Settings.

RAID:

- Fixed the bug where the progress was not displayed correctly if the resync was skipped after creating a RAID array.

iSCSI:

- Invalid characters in an iSCSI volume name are now underlined with a red wavy line.

USB:

- Fixed the bug where USB drive information was not displayed properly when formatting a USB drive with multiple partitions.

Network:

- Fixed the bug where the default gateway was displayed after the Ethernet cable was disconnected.
- Fixed the bug where the Ethernet connection was not built properly after enabling a disabled LAN port 2.

Failover:

- Fixed the bug where the Settings interface was not accessible after stopping failover forcibly.
- Fixed the bug where shared folders created while the main TeraStation was in maintenance mode were not backed up.

Backup:

- Fixed the bug where the TeraStation didn't enter sleep mode after finishing a backup task which was set to run in sleep mode.

Antivirus:

- Fixed the bug where the update dialog box could not close when updating the components from the antivirus options page.
- Fixed the bug where files by backed up replication or backup were not scanned.
- Fixed the bug where the antivirus option page could not be accessed after initializing the TeraStation.

BitTorrent:

- Fixed the bug where Settings could not be accessed with BitTorrent enabled.
- Fixed the bug where a shared folder with multibyte characters in the folder name could not be selected as the BitTorrent target folder.

DLNA:

- Fixed the bug where DLNA media was not displayed when the DLNA protocol for the shared folder was enabled before the DLNA server.

System:

- Fixed the bug where folders on NTFS-formatted USB drives were not shown.
- Fixed the bug where incorrect file icons were displayed in the trashbox after deleting the files via an SMB connection to Mac OS.
Configure SMB settings not to exclude Mac OS temp files from the recycle bin.
- Modified to deal with OpenSSL vulnerability.
- Improved reliability when saving and applying settings.
- Fixed the bug where no I32 message was generated when a RAID 0 array failed and the drive was replaced.
- Fixed the bug where undeletable files were generated when copying files by php scripts with the web server enabled.
- Modified not to display notifications in Settings when update notification is disabled.
- Fixed the bug where the fan didn't restart after stopping during bootup
- Fixed the bug where WebAccess Remote settings could not be changed until the TeraStation was rebooted if wrong information was entered.
- Fixed the bug where an error was displayed after changing the WebAccess Remote target folder.
- Fixed the bug where Settings could not be opened after updating the firmware to version 2.43.

Settings:

- Fixed the bug where some settings were not applied such as creating a new shared folder or a new backup task.
- Fixed the bug where the layout of Settings in Internet Explorer 11 was corrupted.
- The "mediacartridge" shared folder is now undeletable.
- User passwords beginning with an underscore (_) are not allowed.
- Fixed the bug where users imported from a CSV file did not join the "hdusers" group.
- Fixed the bug where an inappropriate error message was displayed when importing multiple users from a CSV file.
- Fixed descriptions in Settings.
- Fixed the bug where SSL certification could not update correctly.
- Fixed the bug where the Russian page was displayed in English.




  It is highly recommended to always use the most recent driver version available.
