INSYS MoRoS 2.0 & 2.1 / MLR 2.0 Firmware 2.11.0 Description

Intended use for INSYS products:

- All MoRoS 2.0 devices
- All MoRoS 2.1 devices
- All MLR 2.0 devices

Important notes:

- If your device has a previous firmware version of at least 1.x.x this update cannot be used!
- If your device has a previous firmware version of at least 2.0.0 but before 2.2.0, an intermediate update step to 2.2.1 must be performed before. This update is available from the INSYS support department.

Preconditions:

- Make sure nobody else is working on the web interface too!
- The power supply must not fail or be switched off in any case!
- We recommend to save the configuration first

New Features:

IT-Security:
- MAC-Filter
- New Messages (SMS,e-mail, SNMP trap) for: false authentication at the web interface, change of the link status (up, down) at the Ethernet ports, configuration change, and firewall violations from LAN and/or WAN
- SNMP messages with sender identification (host name, location)
- Web interface: Concealment of passwords (web authentication, DynDNS, PIN)
- Web interface: all configuration accesses can be disabled (http/https local and remote)
- DNS relay can be disabled

Dial-Out connection:

- Re-establishment also for PING monitoring
- New option: change of the target for each new dial-in
- PPP packet size configurable (MTU, MRU)
- New SMS commands "dial start" and "dial stop"
- For permanent connection: restart of the cellular engine in case of unsuccessful connection establishment after 30 minutes

VPN:

- GRE tunnel
- OpenVPN client via proxy (TCP)

Addressing:

- IP forwarding: realization of virtual LAN (ext) addresses on internal local devices at the router
- DHCP client requests virtual (LAN (ext)) IP addresses for each host table entry with the name "HostNameRouter_HostNameEntry"
- DHCP server: Alternative IP addresses for default gateway and DNS server can be assigned to the DHCP clients.

Operation:

- Graphical indication of the signal strength for cellular devices
- Manual updates: file name, type and checksum are stored in system message
- ASCII configuration file can be exported to the sandbox

Miscellaneous:

- NTP server: the router can serve as time server for local terminal devices

Bug Fixes:

- Fall-back to existing IP address in case an incomplete address has been entered
- Local netmask for networks with 192.168.x.x, 172.16.x.x and 10.x.x.x remains maintained after firmware update
- Time zone difference sign (+/-) will be written correctly in the logs for GMT time zones as well

  It is highly recommended to always use the most recent driver version available.

Try to set a system restore point before installing a device driver. This will help if you installed an incorrect or mismatched driver. Problems can arise when your hardware device is too old or not supported any longer.
