ActionTec Internet Phone Wizard Driver 2.0.0.3 Description

Note: This software update only applies to blue Internet Phone Wizard units sold after January 1, 2005.

I. Updating an already installed device:
Scope: For users who have already installed the drivers and application for the Internet Phone Wizard and plan to update to this latest release.

1. Download ipw.exe onto your computer
2. Run (double click) the .exe file once you have downloaded it
3. Click the Install button to begin the update process.
Note: This update will download drivers to the destination specified on the Install screen. You may delete these files after installation.
4. Follow the instructions on the following pages to complete the update process

II. Re-installing the device:
Scope: For users who are re-installing the device (new system, misplaced installation cd, etc.):

1. Download ipw.exe onto your computer
2. Run (double click) the .exe file once you have downloaded it
3. On the initial window, specify a location to extract the driver/app files to
4. Click the Install button to begin the installation process
5. Follow the instructions on the following pages to complete the software installation process
6. Plug in your Internet Phone Wizard to an available USB port on your PC. The Windows Hardware Installation Wizard will begin.
7. Windows XP Users: On the initial screen, the Found New Hardware Wizard will ask "Can Windows connect to Windows Update to search for software?" Select "No, not this time" and click Next.
Windows 2000 Users: On the second page of the Found New Hardware Wizard, select "Search for a suitable driver for my device" then click Next.
8. Select "Specify a location" then click Next.
9. In the location field enter the path where you extracted the files from Step 3

  It is highly recommended to always use the most recent driver version available.

Try to set a system restore point before installing a device driver. This will help if you installed an incorrect or mismatched driver. Problems can arise when your hardware device is too old or not supported any longer.
