Install Driver AutomaticallyDevice Name | Ricoh Aficio MP 171 Printer PCL 6 Driver 1.7.0.0 |
---|---|
Category | Printer |
Manufacturer | Ricoh |
File Size | 9.6 MB |
Supported OS | Windows All |
1) Supported
- Microsoft Windows 8
- Microsoft Windows Server 2012
- The driver is now Package-Aware.
2) Fixed
- Drivers installed via point and print are not completely removed from the system after a driver uninstallation.
- PCL XL error "UnsupportedCharacterFormat" produced when printing from IE9
- The PCL XL error "FontNameAlreadyExists - XXX" is produced if printing a job containing non-ASCII characters (multi-byte) and both of the following conditions are met:
- The OS is of a language that only uses single byte characters (such as English).
- The Windows System Locale is of a language that uses multi-byte characters (such as Japanese or Chinese).
- Print settings configured within an application are overridden by the driver.
- PCL XL error, job cancellation, or hang-up when printing dotted lines in jobs from applications such as Microsoft Project 2010.
- Registry entries remain on the system after a driver uninstallation. Repeated installation and removal of the driver could result in a large number of registry entries building up and affecting performance.
- The "Total Memory" field in the driver's Accessories tab shows an incorrect amount of memory.
- Queues of the same driver inherit each others' settings.
- If a machine running Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2 has the Windows Aero theme setting applied, when changing the print settings in the print dialog, the background bitmap in the Current Setting view of the driver UI might be black.
- Cancelling out of a customized popup menu causes the driver to freeze. This only occurred if the driver's Graphics Mode setting was configured to Raster.
- When printing, pop-up dialogues created by the Printer Driver Editor might appear behind the application window. This issue only affects 32-bit applications running on a 64-bit OS.
- Printing PCL jobs that include dotted lines that are smaller than 1 pixel causes the printer to hang, requiring a reboot.
3) Others
- Added CAT (Catalog) files which were released from Microsoft (WHQL).
It is highly recommended to always use the most recent driver version available.
Try to set a system restore point before installing a device driver. This will help if you installed an incorrect or mismatched driver. Problems can arise when your hardware device is too old or not supported any longer.
