- You can remotely control one Rio/Ri/Ro unit from a maximum of two computers operating R Remote. You can also remotely control from four separate CL/QL units.
- Supports the HA remote from TF series via NY64-D. The TF firmware must be updated to V2.00 or later.
- When a channel’s +48V is on but +48V MASTER is off, the indicator now blinks for the notification.
- Solved a problem in which R Remote occasionally could not remote the R series units when a DHCP server is running. However, if the DHCP server starts one minute or more later, the remote might fail. In that case, restart the R series units.
1. Turn off the power to the Ri /Ro.
2. Take note of the dip switch settings on the Ri /R o unit front panel. Follow the procedure below to change dip switch settings. Take note of the original dip switch settings in order to restore the settings when the Dante firmware update is completed.
3. Disconnect the Ethernet cable from the Dante [PRIMARY] connector and [SECONDARY] connector on the rear panel of the Ri /Ro unit.
4. Pull the dip switch 4 4 on the Ri /Ro unit front panel down (ON) and turn the power on with the other switch es remaining in their up position s (OFF).
5. After the orange [SYNC] indicator flashes twice periodically on the front panel of the Ri /Ro unit, turn off the power.
6. Connect the Dante [PRIMARY] connector on the rear panel of the Ri /Ro unit to the Ethernet connector on the computer using an Ethernet cable.
7. Pull the dip switches 4 and 8 on the Ri/Ro unit front panel down (ON) and turn the power on with the other switches remaining in their up positions (OFF). The right side of the [SYSTEM] indicator and the [SYNC] indicator start flashing and the unit is activated in update mode.
8. Double-click [updatev2.exe]. The R Series Update Program V2 will start up.
Make sure that the fields in the "File" section indicate as follows:
- file name :RI8RO8_PROG.bin
- product name :R-Series
- version :Version number to which the firmware will be updated
- The "User Account Control" dialog box may appear. Click [Continue] or [Yes].
9. Click the [Connection] button in the “Connect and Update” column. The “product name” field will display “R-Series,” and the “version” field will display the version number of the Ri/Ro firmware.
- If these fields are empty, your computer may not be properly connected to the Ri/Ro. Please make sure that the cable is not disconnected or damaged, that the TCP/IP settings are correct, and that the Ri/Ro has started in Update mode.

Applying a newer firmware version than the one already installed on your unit can bring various enhancements, include workarounds for diverse problems encountered by the device, and improve or add newly developed features.
On the other hand, downgrading the firmware version can recover the device’s functionality in the event of a software update either turning up faulty or causing the unit’s overall performance to drop. However, bear in mind that applying an older firmware isn’t recommended and might not always be possible.
When it comes to the update steps, due to the large variety of devices and numerous ways for installing a new firmware, it is recommended that you carefully read and understand the upgrade steps, and consider applying a different firmware only when you have familiarized yourself with the update method.
As the installation process is most of the times quite risky, this step should be taken by users that have the ability to successfully complete the update; regular users may initiate it at their own risk. Moreover, it’s best that this task be performed in a steady power environment such as the one ensured by a UPS unit.
Therefore, if you consider applying this release, hit the download button, take into account all the aforementioned aspects, and update the device’s firmware. Also make sure you constantly check with our website to ensure that you don’t miss a single new release.
It is highly recommended to always use the most recent driver version available.
Try to set a system restore point before installing a device driver. This will help if you installed an incorrect or mismatched driver. Problems can arise when your hardware device is too old or not supported any longer.
