Nikon COOLPIX S6900 Camera Firmware 1.1 Description

This software is for upgrading the COOLPIX S6900 firmware from v1.0 to v1.1. Verify your camera’s firmware version using the instructions below. If this latest version is already installed in your camera, you need not update the firmware.

The following issues with display languages selected for Language in the setup menu have been resolved:

- The German language could not be selected if Date and time under Setup Menu > Time Zone and date had not been set.
- The Hungarian language could not be selected when a locked SD memory card was inserted in the camera.
- The Portuguese (PT) language could not be selected while the battery was charging in the camera, or with an active Wi-Fi connection.
- The Russian, Hungarian, and Romanian language could not be selected with an active Wi-Fi connection.
- Depending upon the display position on the Language settings screen, the Persian language sometimes could not be selected.

How to verify your camera’s current firmware version:

- Turn on the camera.
- Tap the MENU tab in the monitor to display, and then tap (setup).
- Tap Firmware version in the (setup) menu.
- The camera's firmware version will be displayed.
- Turn off the camera.

Quick Install Guide:

- Power the camera from AC adapter unit or use a fully charged battery.
- Create a new folder with an appropriate name on your computer's hard drive.
- Download the firmware file.
- Run the downloaded file to create a folder called S6900Update which contains the firmware folder.
- Use a card reader or similar device to copy the firmware folder to the root directory of a memory card formatted in the camera.
- Insert the memory card into the camera's memory card slot and turn on the camera.
- Tap Firmware version in the (setup) menu and follow instructions displayed to upgrade the firmware.
- After the upgrade is complete, turn the camera off and remove the memory card.
- Access the Firmware version item in the camera's setup menu to confirm that the firmware has been upgraded.
