Yamaha QL1 Digital Mixer Firmware 3.11 Description

This package provides the necessary installation files of Yamaha QL1 Digital Mixer Firmware 3.11.

Enhancements:

- You can remotely control one RSio64-D unit from a maximum of two CL/QL/R Remote units.
- You can remotely control one RMio64-D unit from a maximum of six CL/QL/R Remote units.
- You can remotely control one Rio/Ri/Ro unit from a maximum of two computers operating R Remote. You can also remotely control from four separate CL/QL units.

Fixes:

- Solved a problem in which the HELP content disappears from the internal memory after restarting the console even if the HELP file was loaded.
- Solved a problem in which faders resist any manual adjustment when scenes are recalled with the faders made safe by Focus.
- Solved a problem in which the WORD CLOCK screen incorrectly shows DANTE SLAVE in some cases.

Installation steps:

1. Save the CL internal data to the USB memory or CL Editor (compatible with the current firmware version) as backup. If you are saving the data to the USB memory, open the SAVE/LOAD popup window from the SETUP screen.
2. Turn off the power to the CL series.
3. Remove the cable connected to the Dante connector. After initialization, the Dante setup may change from REDUNDANT to DAISY CHAIN. Please check this setting in the DANTE SETUP popup screen, and change it if necessary, after the update is complete and before reconnecting the cables. Otherwise the Dante network may not function correctly.
4. Connect the USB memory (formatted in FAT12/FAT16/FAT32) to the USB connector of your computer.
5. Copy the all files (extensions .P GM and .BIN) in the " CL _fi i rm*** _USB " (*** indicates the version number) folder extracted from the downloaded file to the root directory of the USB memory.
- If you have never updated to V1.70 or later: As you must update the NAME SUB CPU, copy CL-MD***.BIN (*** indicates the version number) in the NAME SUB folder to the root directory of the USB memory.
- If you have never updated to V3.00 or later: As it is necessary to update the Dante firmware, copy FWUpdate_CL?_v*****_sw***.dnt (? indicates the product name and *** the version number) in the Dante\DanteFirmware folder to the root directory of the USB memory. You can also update the specific firmware by copying the corresponding file into the root directory.
6. Remove the USB memory when the files have been copied. For more information on removing the USB memory, refer to the owner's manual for your computer and USB memory.
7. Connect the USB memory to the CL USB connector, then turn on the power to the CL series.
A "Start Loading ?" message will be displayed.
8. Click the OK button to start loading the firmware.
CAUTION : A "Loading..." message will appear during loading the firmware. Progress from 0 to 100% is repeated 3 or 4 times. Do not disconnect the USB memory or power- - off the CL series while accessing the USB memory.
9. When the firmware has been loaded, the CL series automatically restarts and a "Starting System..." message flashes for approximately one minute. While this message is flashing, do not turn off the power. If you have accidentally turned off the power, turn on the CL5/CL3/CL1 Firmware Update Guide 5 power again to resume the initialization.
- If CL-MD***.BIN (*** indicates the version number) has already been copied into the root directory of the USB memory at this time, it will be transferred to the NAME SUB CPU firmware update. Refer to "Updating the CL NAME SUB CPU Firmware".
- Similarly, if FWUpdate_CL?_v*****_sw***.dnt (? indicates the product name and *** the version number) has already been copied into the root directory of the USB memory, it will be transferred to the Dante firmware update. Refer to "Updating the Dante Firmware".
10. When a " Console initialized due to memory mismatch. .” ” popup window (or similar message) appears, press the CLOSE button to close it.
- Since it is a message about initialization even if displayed as an error, please continue update.
11. When an "Initialize All Memories ?" message appears, press the INITIALIZE button.
12. When an "Are you sure ?" message appears, press the OK button. Initializing the internal memory will be started. When you initialize, SECONDARY PORT settings will be DAISY CHAIN.
13. When the initialization is complete, press the EXIT button.
14. Remove the USB memory after confirming the ACCESS indicator has disappeared in the function access area.
15. If necessary, confirm the firmware was correctly updated in the version field in the SETUP screen.

About DJ Mixer Firmware:

Updating the mixer’s firmware version can add support for newly developed features (or improve existing ones), enhance audio quality and transition effects, resolve different problems such as those regarding various noises heard in certain situations, and many other related improvements.

However, before downloading this package, go to the unit’s system information and make sure that the currently installed firmware isn’t either newer or matches this release. Moreover, you should know that an update failure might seriously damage the mixer’s software, so it is vital that you are familiar with the installation steps.

As for applying this release, you must transfer the downloadable package (or its content) to the mixer via any available methods, and power up the unit through various key combinations in order to enter update mode (make sure you read the product’s user guide).

This said, if you consider installing this release and you’re positive you have all the knowledge you need for a successful upgrade, download the package, and apply it to your mixer. Check with our website constantly so that you don’t miss any update that can improve your device.

It is highly recommended to always use the most recent driver version available.

Try to set a system restore point before installing a device driver. This will help if you installed an incorrect or mismatched driver. Problems can arise when your hardware device is too old or not supported any longer.
