Sony AS30VR Action Camera Firmware 3.00 Description

Fixes:

- Add function to operate multiple cameras by the Live-View Remote "RM-LVR1".

The following benefits of the previous version are also included in this update:
- Movie Rotate function "FLIP" has been added: you can turn your video by 180 degrees.
- Summer Time (Daylight Saving Time) has been added.
- The display has been improved in multiview function of PlayMemories Home
- Update the PlayMemories Home software to the latest version.

Firmware update steps:

1. Close all currently running programs on your computer.
2. Double-click the file you downloaded to start up the Firmware Updater.
3. Remove the memory card from the camera beforehand. Connect the camera to the computer with the supplied USB cable. USB Mode appears on the LCD monitor of the camera.
4. If the computer cannot find the camera, the message " Could not find the camera for this update." appears on the computer display. Try the following if this happens:
- Disconnect the USB cable and connect it again.
- If the computer has multiple USB terminals, try with the other terminals. Your computer may have some USB terminals on the backside.
- Sometimes when the camera is connected to the computer with the USB cable, the message to encourage rebooting the computer may appear on the computer display. In this case, remove the battery pack from the camera, reboot the computer and try again.
5. Confirm the "Safely Remove Hardware" icon is displayed on the task tray at the lower right corner of the computer screen.
6. After confirming the above, click Next on the Firmware Updater window. From now on, never turn off the camera until the firmware update is completed.
7. The current version and the version after the update appear on the lower left part of the screen. If the current version and the version after the update are the same, update is not required (In that case, stop the USB connection and click Finish. Turn off the camera, remove the battery pack, reinsert the battery and turn on the camera).
8. Click the "Safely Remove Hardware" icon on the task tray at the lower right corner of the computer screen to stop the USB connection. Please keep the USB cable connected even after stopping the USB connection on the computer.
9. Press the center of the [Multi-selector] to execute the reset of the camera.
10. Click Next on the Firmware Updater window.
11. After resetting, reconnection of the camera is verified.
12.Click Run to start the update. The progress bar appears while updating (approximately 10 minutes). Never turn off the camera nor disconnect the USB cable while updating.
13. When the update is completed, click Finish and disconnect the USB cable.
14.Turn off the camera, remove the battery pack, reinsert the battery and turn on the camera again.

Important notes:

- When performing the firmware update, please use a fully charged rechargeable battery pack..
- Do not remove the battery during the update; otherwise, the camera may become inoperable due to the sudden power shutdown.
- Remove the memory card from the camera beforehand.

About Digital Camera Firmware:

Updating to a newer firmware version than the one already installed on your camera can improve the device’s overall performance and stability, resolve various issues, and add support for newly developed features or enhance existing ones.

On the other hand, downgrading the camera’s firmware can recover its functionality in the unlikely event the currently installed version is faulty or the device’s performance dropped after an upgrade. However, bear in mind that applying an earlier build might not always be possible.

It is recommended that changing the camera’s firmware be performed when the new release resolves an issue that your device has been encountering, or adds a new feature (or enhances an existing one) that could prove useful for you.

This process isn’t intended to be destructive, but still, it’s best to save all your personal data and configurations before applying a different firmware. Moreover, make sure that the battery is fully charged and don’t use the camera’s buttons while the installation is in progress.

When it comes to the update method, usually, you must copy the firmware file onto a compatible memory card, insert it into the camera, and browse from the menu to the device’s update section.

However, each device has various ways to enter the update mode and particular steps that should be taken for a successful upgrade, therefore make sure you read the product’s installation guide.

That being said, if you consider that this firmware improves your device in any way, then hit the download button and get the desired version; if not, check with our website as often as possible so that you don’t miss the update that will boost your camera’s performance.

It is highly recommended to always use the most recent driver version available.

Try to set a system restore point before installing a device driver. This will help if you installed an incorrect or mismatched driver. Problems can arise when your hardware device is too old or not supported any longer.
