Ricoh Aficio SP 8300DN Printer PCL 5e Driver 1.2.0.0 64-bit Description

This driver package offers support for B/W printing in Windows. It supports HP PCL 5e commands and is compatible with PCL5. The same print image as PCL5 can be expected.

Release notes:

1. Supported:
- Microsoft Windows 8.1
- Microsoft Windows Server 2012 R2

2. Fixed:
- When printing a watermark from WordPad or Microsoft Paint, "URGENT" and "ORIGINAL" do not appear in the Watermark list. In addition, when "(None)" is selected, "ORIGINAL" is shown in the print preview and appears in the printed result.
- When printing a job with the Duplex, Resolution, Paper Type, or Input Tray setting configured in an application, the specified setting that was configured is ignored.
- Missing characters might occur if the font contains a large amount of bitmap data.
- When printing a booklet with a custom paper size and specific paper type, the first page of the printed result is a blank page.
- If two drivers that are installed on a Windows XP machine contain the same rc4manNT.dll files but each file is a different version (one is v5.2.7.7 or later and the other is before v5.2.7.7), the Printer Properties might fail to open and an error with exception code 0xc0000005 might occur.
- An authentication error occurs when User Authentication is enabled in the device settings because the driver cannot use the User Authentication settings in the Advanced Options tab of Printer Properties if the Hard Disk option is unchecked in the Accessories tab.
- When connected to a Bluetooth port in Windows 8 or Windows Server 2012, printing and bidirectional communication fail.
- Some driver settings that are configured using the "Printing Defaults" button are not inherited when installed on point and print clients. This issue occurs when the server's OS is x64-based and the client's OS is x86-based, or vice versa.

3. Others:
- Improved performance when printing images that overlap text.
- Added CAT (Catalog) files which were released from Microsoft (WHQL).

Installation steps (for exe / zip):

1. Save the driver files to your computer.
2. Run the executable or extract the installation files to a location on your disk.
3. Follow the steps displayed by the setup wizard.
4. After installation, restart the computer.

Important notes:

- Before installation, save all your work and close all the running programs, as the installation may interfere with other apps;
- If the setup wizard requests Administrative rights, make sure to run the setup as Administrator;
- Pay attention to all installation instructions to make sure the driver is installed correctly;

About PCL (Printer Command Language) Driver:

PCL Printer drivers are basically a set of small programs able to create an interface between your printer and the operating system on your personal computer. If your printer uses PCL protocol, it is imperative that you install these drivers in order to enjoy the full capabilities of your device.

Although PCL drivers offer a large number of features, they are not recommended for use in high quality printing as they don’t reproduce colors precisely.

Printer Command Language or PCL drivers are generally used for home or office printers because they offer very good compatibility (most printers use PCL), give less printer errors and are less demanding on your network connection.

Before installing these drivers, please check to see which the latest version of PCL supported by your printer is.

If your device is PCL capable, and you have selected the correct printer model and OS version, then feel free to hit the download button. Our website is updated daily with new printer and driver versions, so visit us often to keep your device up to date.

  It is highly recommended to always use the most recent driver version available.

Try to set a system restore point before installing a device driver. This will help if you installed an incorrect or mismatched driver. Problems can arise when your hardware device is too old or not supported any longer.
