SmallHD DP7-PRO Field Monitor Firmware 3.0.1 Description

Important Installation notes:

- Upgrade will not show DP7 Splash screen. Screen will stay black for between 5 and 20 seconds after smallHD.com splash screen – be patient: DO NOT TURN OFF!
- Upgradable from any 2.0.X Version. DP7 Monitors on V1.1 or 1.2.X MUST BE UPGRADED TO V2.0.X before upgrading to V3.0
- Firmware CANNOT Roll back to any version before 2.0.0. Attempting to roll back to a 1.X.X Version will break the monitor and require smallHD support to repair.

Monitor Activation Added:

- Upon upgrading to 3.0, the user will have the option of registering their DP7 through a simple to use web interface
- Registration allows the user immediate access to World Class smallHD customer support and to stay up to date with any relevant updates
- If desired, the registration process can be delayed, or skipped entirely until a time when more convenient

Changes:

- Any Look can be sent downstream
- NEW SmallHD style False Color (Full Color Mapping with Rainbow gradient)
- NEW Canon 5Dmkii DSLR Scale automatically adjusts scaling of screen when switching between Live View Mode and Record Mode on DSLR

Looks: NEW FUNCTIONALITY

- Creation of User Looks (3D LUTs or Look Up Tables) In Monitor using Davinci Resolve style tools
- Ability to use Multiple Looks as Nodes (up to FIVE)
- Ability to send a Look downstream using Send Out
- Split Screen View: View original image side by side with your Look applied

Browse & Load a Single Look using Browse Menu as in prior versions:

- Loading a Look via browse menu will delete all Nodes in Edit Menu
- Save/Export any Look Nodes in Edit Menu before loading via Browse Menu
- Any Look loaded via browse will become the new first node in Edit Menu

Display up to TWO Different Looks at once:

- Display one Look on monitor and send ANOTHER Look downstream
- Display one Look on monitor and send SAME Look downstream
- Display NO Look on monitor and send a Look downstream

Available Input/Output options in V3.0.1:

- HDMI IN → SDI OUT (With Look)
- HDMI IN → HDMI OUT (With Look)
- SDI IN → HDMI OUT (With Look)

Input/Output Options Not Yet Available:

- SDI IN → SDI OUT (With Look)

Improved Image Capture & Overlay:

- Capture Multiple Images to SD Card
- Choose Save Location for captured images
- Choose Image to overlay on screen: Choice of Last captured or User Selected
- Adjustable Opacity of Overlay Image
- Overlay Image can be made to “Blink” at a specified speed for easier comparison
- Assign Multiple Overlay Images to smart keys

Recommended Practices:

- When Running DP7 Capicola V3.0, any other DP7 downstream should also be running Capicola V3.0 for maximum compatibility

Save & Export Looks created in monitor:

- All Nodes are combined into ONE Look for saving or export
- On Save/Export, the Size of the LUT cube is determined by export format’s LUT cube size.

- Davinci Resolve (33)
- Autodesk Lustre (33)
- Iridas (32)
- LUTher (33)
- Quantel (33)
- Assimilate (32)
- Digital Vision Nucoda (33)

Known Functional Issues:

- Pixel Zoom Mode 2X on 1080p59.94/1080p60 causes image to scramble
- Downstream Look Output on SDI → SDI not yet supported
- Waveform Function on SD Resolution Signals inaccurate
- Levels displayed on function have “shadowed” regions which are not correct

Known Format Issues:

- Standard Definition Signals 480, 576) do not convert from SDI → HDMI or from HDMI → SDI
- RGB 10 & RGB 12 bit inputs NOT SUPPORTED
- YCC 4:4:4 10bit & YCC 4:4:4 12bit inputs NOT SUPPORTED
- 3G SDI Input NOT SUPPORTED

  It is highly recommended to always use the most recent driver version available.

Try to set a system restore point before installing a device driver. This will help if you installed an incorrect or mismatched driver. Problems can arise when your hardware device is too old or not supported any longer.
