JVC DLA-X70RBU Projector Firmware Description

Symptoms:

- Wrong color in Film modes Film 1/Film 2 (Cinema/3D/THX/Stage/Anime are OK).
- Wrong color in CMD 1 and CMD 2 in high lamp mode (low lamp mode/CMD off/ CMD 3 3/CMD 4 are OK).
- Black out when Screen Adjust is set to #123 (other values are OK).

Procedure:

1 Open the file SFCommander_Special_v006.zip.
2 Double click the file SFCommander_Special.exe to start up the software. 3. Prepare the Projector:
• Connect an RS-232c null modem (crossover) cable from the PC to the RS232C terminal at the rear panel. Avoid using a USB-to-RS232 adapter, since it may not be able to update with the USB-to-RS232 adapter.
• Connect any video source to the HDMI-1 input (i.e. blu-ray player).
• Power ON both the video source and the projector, then, change the projector INPUT to HDMI-1.
4. On the SFCommander window, make sure the PORT setting displays the correct RS232c COM PORT setting. Press the “Write Default” button on SFCommander to start writing.
- If operating normally, the progress bar of the application will advance.
5. When the writing completes successfully the following window should pop up on the PC monitor.
- Press the “OK” button on the pop up window.

Fixes:

- This update addresses Incorrect color may appear in certain modes.

About Projector Firmware:

Install this firmware package and projectors can benefit from higher image quality, improved performance and stability, various fixed issues encountered throughout the unit’s lifetime, as well as several other changes.

Still, if you wish to apply this release, it would be best if you first read and understand the installations procedure; also, perform this task using a fully-charged battery or in a steady power environment (such as the one ensured by a UPS unit), and only after you have familiarized yourself with the update steps.

Bear in mind that, while the firmware is upgrading, it isn’t recommended to use the projector’s buttons, or interrupt the process in any way; doing so can cause serious malfunctions to the device and might even render it unusable.

That being said, if you intend to update to this release, click the download button, get the package and update the firmware version. If not, check back with our website as often as possible so that you don’t miss the update that will boost the performance of your projector.

It is highly recommended to always use the most recent driver version available.

Try to set a system restore point before installing a device driver. This will help if you installed an incorrect or mismatched driver. Problems can arise when your hardware device is too old or not supported any longer.
