Onkyo TX-RZ920 Network A/V Receiver Firmware 1.03 Description

Changes:

- Adds support for external audio inputs for "FlareConnect".
- Minor bug fixes and improvements stability.

Update Procedure:

- Connect a USB device to your PC. If there is any data in the USB device, remove it first.
- Download the firmware file.
- Unzip the downloaded file. The numbers of folders and files differ according to the model.
- Copy all the extracted folders including all folders and files to the USB device. Be careful not to copy the zip file.
- Remove the USB device from your PC and connect it to the USB port on the AV receiver.
- When the AV receiver has two USB ports, you can use either one.
- Make sure the AV receiver and TV are turned on. If the AV receiver is in standby mode, press ON/STANDBY on the AV receiver to light up the front display.
- Select the USB input source. “Now Initializing...” appears on the AV receiver’s display and then the name of the USB device is displayed. It takes 20 to 30 seconds to recognize the USB device.
- Press RECEIVER followed by HOME on the remote controller.
- The Home menu appears on the TV screen.
- Select “Firmware Update” and press ENTER.
- Select “Update via USB” and press ENTER.
- Note that this option will not be available if there is no firmware file newer than the currently installed version.
- Select “Update” and press ENTER. The update process will begin.
- During the update process, the on-screen display may disappear depending on the updated program. When this occurs, you can still view the update progress on the AV receiver’s display. The on-screen display will reappear after the update is complete, and upon turning the AV receiver off and on again.
- Do not turn off the AV receiver and do not remove the USB device during the update process.
- The message “Completed!” appears on the AV receiver’s display, indicating that the update has been completed. Remove the USB device.
- Press ON/STANDBY on the front panel. The AV receiver will enter standby mode.
- Do not use RECEIVER on the remote controller. The AV receiver will enter standby mode automatically in 3 minutes regardless of whether ON/STANDBY is pressed.
- Congratulations! You now have the latest firmware installed on your Onkyo AV receiver.

About A/V Receivers Firmware:

Each Audio-Video Receiver (A/V Receiver) is powered by a firmware version that enables all of its features and allows users to make the most of the device. Updating the firmware can bring various changes that should boost performance, such as improved compatibility with different multimedia file formats.

In order to do so, usually, you must transfer the firmware onto an empty USB storage device, connect the flash drive to the A/V Receiver, and initiate the upgrade process from the device's setup menu.

However, this task must be carefully performed in a steady power environment, by someone who has completely read and understood all the installation steps or by a power user (recommended) – an update failure can cause your receiver's software to encounter serious malfunctions.

Therefore, if you think that this release can improve your audio-video receiver in any way, get the desired version through the available download button and apply the new firmware; if not, check with our website as often as possible so that you don't miss the update that might improve your device.

It is highly recommended to always use the most recent driver version available.

Try to set a system restore point before installing a device driver. This will help if you installed an incorrect or mismatched driver. Problems can arise when your hardware device is too old or not supported any longer.
