Mellanox MCB191A-FCAT Network Card Firmware 10.16.1200 Description

Changes:

- User Access Region (UAR) 4KB Granularity Allocation: UAR page size currently is set to 4KB and not according to what the system page size determines.
- Memory Usage Reduction: Reduced HCA memory consumption, which allowed PXE driver to consume 5MB less memory

Bug Fixes:

- HCA hang: Fixed an issue that cause the HCA to hang due to a fatal hardware error during resources creation.
- ECN: Fixed an issue that prevented the software from setting ECN parameters (min_rate, max_rate, rate_to_set_on_-first_cnp) to values >32768
- ibdump: Fixed an issue that prevented ibdump from functioning properly on the cards second port
- Firmware hang #1126486: Fixed a rare issue that caused the firmware to hang.
- iSER: Fixed an issue that caused QP connection timedout due to firmware not being able to handle duplicate packets with AckReq bit set. The fix stopped ignoring duplicate AckReq packets to avoid timeout on the sender side.
- Driver restart: Fixed a rare issue/race condition that might cause a double command completion or other corrupted completion.
- Counters: Fixed an issue related to the PortRcvDataVLExtended/PortXmitDataVLExtended parameter that caused the counters’ value to be reported in octets instead of dwrods.
- RX pipe: Fixed a rare issue where the RX Pipe got stuck. This occurred only when using an IB transport QP connected to SRQ with SRQ Limit event.
- Function Level Reset (FLR): Fixed an issue that caused the RX pipe to get stuck in case FLR was performed in parallel with the traffic that was send either to an Ethernet RQ or an IB transport connected to SRQ.
- Bad DMA memory access: Fixed a rare issue that caused the HCA to access the "bad DMA memory access".
- PCIe: Fixed a PCI issue which resulted in fatal assert and caused a driver load failure.
- SR-IOV: Fixed an issue which caused system fail when enabled SR-IOV
- SRQ limit event: Fixed a rare issue which caused the RX to hang when triggered the SRQ limit event.
- RX traffic: Fixed an issue which occasionally caused the RX traffic to hang in DC when received a PCI error on WQE fetch.
- mlxconfig configuration: Fixed an issue which caused the mlxconfig configuration of VF_LOG_BAR_-SIZE to be ignored and to be set to 5 (32MB).
- EEH error: Fixed an EEH error from PCI which caused firmware to hang.
- VL, SM: Fixed an issues which occasionally caused the driver to hang during unload on some VLs when configuring the SM with a VL weight 0 and running traffic on it.
- DC transport: Fixed a rare case which caused an assert reported to the driver when the DC transport was enabled in the following cases: retransmission occurred and the RX received the same packet twice
- VF vports/VF GUIDs: Fixed an issue which caused the HCA to hang when enabled /disabled the VFs vports when the VFs GUIDs configuration were overloaded in the steering table.

The following advanced feature as described in Connect-IB PRM Rev 2.01 are unsupported in the current firmware version:

- Service types not supported: SyncUMR
- Service types not supported: Mellanox transport
- Service types not supported: PTP
- Service types not supported: RAW IPv6
- Service types not supported: PTP (ieee 1588)
- Connect-IB currently supports only a single physical function model
- INT-A not supported for EQs only MSI-X
- PCI VPD write flow (RO flow supported)
- Streaming receive queue (STRQ) and collapsed CQ
- Precise clock synchronization over the network (IEEE 1588)
- Data integrity validation of control structures
- PCIe Function Level Reset (FLR)
- SM is not supported on VFs

Unsupported Commands

- QUERY_MAD_DEMUX
- SET_MAD_DEMUX
- PAGE_FAULT_RESUME
- ACTIVATE_TRACER
- DEACTIVATE_TRACER

About Network Adapter Drivers:

When connected, the operating system usually installs a generic driver that helps the computer to recognize the newly attached device.

However, proper software must be applied if you want to make use of all features that the network adapter has available. This task also allows computers to properly recognize all device characteristics such as manufacturer, chipset, technology, and others.

Updating the adapter's drivers and utilities version might improve overall performance and stability, increase transfer speeds, fix different compatibility problems and several network-related errors, as well as bring various other changes.

To install this release, simply get the package, extract it if necessary, run the setup, and follow the instructions displayed on-screen. When done, don't forget to perform a system restart and reconnect the network adapter to make sure that all changes take effect properly.

Without further ado, if you intend to apply this version, click the download button and install the package. Moreover, check with our website as often as possible so that you don't miss a single new release.

It is highly recommended to always use the most recent driver version available.

Try to set a system restore point before installing a device driver. This will help if you installed an incorrect or mismatched driver. Problems can arise when your hardware device is too old or not supported any longer.
