Mellanox ConnectX-4 Network Card WinOF-2 Driver 1.80.51000 Description

The Mellanox WinOF-2 Rev 1.80.51000 for Windows package contains the following components:

- Ethernet driver
- IPoIB driver
- Basic tools
- Performance tools
- Documentation

Big Fixes:

- Removed from the Windows INF file all the device IDs that are not in use.
- Fixed a false alarm that indicated that a send queue was stuck and as a result a miniport reset was performed.
- Fixed a rare case that caused a BSOD when switched from a single RQ to RSS.
- Fixed certification issues that occurred when running ConnectX-4 Lx at 25Gb/s link speed.
- Fixed an issue that caused the firmware to get stuck during VM migration in SR-IOV mode or upon PF driver restart.

Known Issues:

- In some scenarios, the device reports one schedule queue more than the supported number of schedule queue.
- In some scenarios, since the default LRO/RSC coalescing value is 4K, 100GbE bandwidth cannot be reached. Workaround: Increase the LRO/RSC registry key defaults to higher than 4K.
- Setting the TransmitBuffers parameter to a value that is not a power of 2 causes a BSOD while sending packets. Workaround: Set the TransmitBuffers parameter to values which are a power of 2
- When the VMQ mode is enabled in a virtual switch, the RSS-enabled network adapter supports only 60 VMNICs, in spite of the 124 advertised. Thus, only 60 VMQs for virtual NICs are available and HLK VMQ tests fail. Workaround: To pass HLK VMQ tests, disable virtual switch RSS, using the following powershell command: Set-NetAdapterAdvancedProperty -name <Device name> -RegistryKeyword "RssOnHostVPorts" -RegistryValue 0
- Running RDMA from the host when SR-IOV is enabled is not fully supported.
- The "NDISTest 6.5 - [2 Machine] - Stats" HLK test may fail due to inaccurate statistics caused by the counters caching mechanism in the driver. Workaround: Disable the counter caching mechanism, using the following PowerShell command: New-NetAdapterAdvancedProperty -name <Adapter name> -RegistryKeyword "UpdateStatsCacheOnDemand" -RegistryDataType REG_SZ -RegistryValue 1
- Updating the non-default vPort's VM network interface RSS parameter during heavy traffic in vRSS mode could cause the host and non-default vPorts network interfaces to reset, and a momentary disruption in network connectivity.

About Ethernet Drivers:

Windows platforms generally apply a generic driver that allows motherboards to recognize the Ethernet component.

However, in order to make use of all network card (adapter) features, you must install a proper LAN driver that enables the hardware. This task enables systems to connect to a network, as well as collect all component characteristics such as manufacturer and chipset.

If you intend to update the driver version, know that this process can add support for new OSes, fix different compatibility problems, resolve related errors encountered during the product's lifetime, as well as include various other changes.

When it comes to the actual installation procedure, we should note that most producers try to make it as easy as possible, so following the steps should be a breeze: just get the downloadable package, run the setup, and follow the on-screen instructions.

There is a chance that other OSes could also be suitable, but it is not advisable that you install this release on platforms other than the specified ones. Remember to perform a system reboot once done, to allow all changes to take effect properly.

Therefore, if you wish to apply this version, click on the download button and enable your network card. To stay up to speed with the latest updates, check back with our website as often as possible.

It is highly recommended to always use the most recent driver version available.

Try to set a system restore point before installing a device driver. This will help if you installed an incorrect or mismatched driver. Problems can arise when your hardware device is too old or not supported any longer.
