Phase One XF Camera System Firmware 3.01.23 Description

With continued dedication to professional photographers, Phase One introduced the third feature update for the XF Camera. This update is recommended for all users of the XF Camera body in combination with the Leaf Credo Digital Backs.

The new Firmware introduces advanced flash controls with in-camera Profoto AirTTL, Profoto Air and a visual flash curve tool. Furthermore the new firmware version 3.01.23 for the XF introduces several workflow tools and functions to enhance the customization of the camera system, improving productivity and professional delivery of the XF Camera System.

Changes:

- SR1 features improved stability of XF Camera. Issues found with specific equipment combinations, in tethered and untethered workflows which resulting in a “camera error” message have now been corrected.
- New firmware adding new functionality to the XF Camera in combination with the Mamiya-Leaf Credo digital backs

New XF Camera features:

- New and advanced flash control
- Profoto AirTTL
- Profoto Air built directly into the XF Camera System
- Rear Curtain sync
- Flash Analysis Tool –visual flash curve
- Configurable Icon Controls on the XF Camera Body
- Long press the icons in the lower bar of the XF Top Screen, and select which functions are available in the control bar
- New drive modes: Bulb (B), Time/Toggle (T) mode are now available for long exposure

Updating XF firmware from the Credo digital back:

- Download the Firmware Updater file.
- Drag the file to the CF card and place the CF card in the Credo Digital Back
- Mount the Credo on the XF, the Capture menu now displays an “XF” Menu, which enables updating the XF Camera Body firmware
- Press the Update Firmware button and follow the on-screen instructions.
- The “About System” Menu makes it possible to verify the firmware versions installed on the XF Camera, the lens and the viewfinder.

Updating to a newer firmware version than the one already installed on your camera can improve the device’s overall performance and stability, resolve various issues, and add support for newly developed features or enhance existing ones.
