- Once this firmware version is installed on the player, you will not be able to revert back to any previous official or public beta firmware. There will be no problem upgrading to any future official or beta firmware release.
- It is recommended that you perform a "Reset Factory Defaults" operation after the firmware is installed. Please write down your special settings before doing this, and remember to re-apply your settings and adjust the proper volume level (if applicable) before you play any content.
- This firmware is designed to work with new versions of the OPPO Remote Control app for iOS and Android. The new Remote Control app improves the stability and responsiveness, and provides convenient features such as touch control and manual player connection by IP address. The new apps will be available in the Apple App Store and Google Play Store shortly.
- Fixed a bug in calculating acoustic propagation delay from the "Speaker Distance" parameters of the "Speaker Configuration" setting.
- Resolved an incorrect 4:3 aspect ratio (AR) display with some user-generated MKV and MPEG files. When the customer set the "Primary Output" to HDMI 1 and played video with AR 4:3, double pillar box could be observed on the pictures from HDMI 1 Output. This AR issue has been resolved.
- Resolved a HDMI handshaking issue introduced by a Sony firmware update to their 4K Ultra HDTV, such as the XBR-55X900A model. The player could be immediately locked up once its HDMI 1 output was connected to the television. This was caused by the new data field related to HDMI 2.0 support in the television’s Extended Display Identification Data (EDID) block. We added special handling for these fields and resolved this issue.
- Resolved a compatibility issue with the SiliconDust HDHomeRun Prime CableCard TV tuner. If both the TV tuner and the BDP-93/95 player were connected to the same home network, the player could slow down and produce interrupted images for disc playback after a few minutes. The problem was related to the redundant query/response between these two devices, and was resolved in this firmware.
All features and improvements of the previous firmware are also included in this version.
It is highly recommended to always use the most recent driver version available.
Try to set a system restore point before installing a device driver. This will help if you installed an incorrect or mismatched driver. Problems can arise when your hardware device is too old or not supported any longer.
