Fixes:
- Focus range with normal autofocus has been changed from approximately 50 cm–∞ to approximately 30 cm–∞ from the center of the front surface of the lens.
- AF focus-acquisition rate has been improved when the scene contained in the frame exhibits an extremely high level of contrast.
- The color of the focus area in manual focus mode has been changed to white, making it easier to identify the current focus mode.
- Less battery power is now consumed with interval timer photography, enabling interval timer shooting for a longer period of time when the camera is powered by the battery.

Verify the current firmware version:

- Turn on the camera.
- Press the camera’s MENU button to display the menu.
- Press the rotary multi selector to the left to highlight the menu tab, select the setup tab, and press the OK button.
- Select Firmware version in the setup menu and press the OK button.
- The camera's firmware version will be displayed.
- Turn off the camera.

Quick install guide:

- Power the camera from AC adapter unit or use a fully charged battery.
- Create a new folder with an appropriate name on your computer's hard drive.
- Download the Windows (.EXE) or Macintosh (.DMG) file to the newly created folder.
- Run the downloaded file to create a folder called “A_Update” which contains the firmware folder.
- Use a card reader or similar device to copy the firmware folder to the root directory of a memory card formatted in the camera.
- Insert the memory card into the camera's memory card slot and turn on the camera.
- Select Firmware version in the camera's setup menu and follow instructions displayed to upgrade the firmware.
- After the upgrade is complete, turn the camera off and remove the memory card.
- Access the Firmware version item in the camera's setup menu to confirm that the firmware has been upgraded.
