M-Audio Venom Updater 1.8.7 for Mac OS Description

Fixes:

- Known Issue: Vyzez Editor Error Message “There are no drivers in M-Audio.ini to load!”
- After installing Venom Firmware Updater 1.8.7 some users may encounter an error message with the dialog above. This error is Mac OS specific and is symptomatic of an installation that has been ‘migrated’ by the OSX Lion update procedure or in which the system drive has been renamed after installation of the Vyzex editor. The program is unable to find the correct path to the library files it needs, which is why the dialog informs there are no ‘drivers’ to load – These are not OS drivers that are missing but a type of program resource required by the editor architecture that Vyzex Venom is built on top of.
- A manual uninstall of the program files followed by a reinstallation of the program will resolve the problem.
- Known Issue: Venom is currently incompatible with USB 3.0 ports. Please use USB 2.0 ports to connect Venom to your system.
- Fixed: Mac control panel hangs when power cycled on Venom when running on 10.7.1.
- Fixed: Mac Control panel does not report sound ROM version properly.
- Fixed: Driver causing audio performance issues on Mac.
- MIDI Sync Improved – Previously, Venom spent too much time processing and re-processing incoming MIDI clocks. Now Venom responds to timing information immediately.
- Mac Driver Latency Reporting Fixed – Previously, reported latencies from Mac-based DAWs were inconsistent. Now the driver consistently reports correct latency values to the DAWs. It is up to the individual DAW to calculate additional latency times within the application.
- Encoder Response Improved – Performance Control knob turns are smoother, while actually optimizing and reducing the density of MIDI controller messages sent.
- MIDI Messages – Improved several issues related to communicating with the Vyzex Venom sound editor software.

  It is highly recommended to always use the most recent driver version available.

Try to set a system restore point before installing a device driver. This will help if you installed an incorrect or mismatched driver. Problems can arise when your hardware device is too old or not supported any longer.
