- The "Restore Defaults" function will no longer work after use of the Printer Driver Editor's "Display/Do not Display" function.
- Bidirectional communication might not work if another Ricoh printer driver of any PDL is already installed on the system.
- The print settings of the first Excel Worksheet are applied to all subsequent worksheets in the job. This occurred even if "Increase auto-keep settings for applications" was off.
- The Japanese character set "Shift-JIS" might be applied to jobs that do not contain any Japanese characters. This caused some extended-ASCII to appear garbled or not print at all.
- Some of the images within a document might be shifted in relation to the positions of other images within the document.
- Adobe Reader v7.x jobs containing data that is outside of the printable area, trigger a driver bug that results in an application error and nothing being printed.
- If the driver is run on an MUI version of Windows, the bottom part of the driver UI might be cut off.
- Background color missing from behind cross-hatching in Visio 2000 documents.
- Jobs containing embedded fonts might be cancelled. If error reporting is on, a PCL XL error will be printed.
- Some bold Open Type fonts look exactly the same as the non-bold version of the font.
- Jobs submitted to a Windows print server via "Print services for Unix" might be printed in a smaller than expected font size.
- Problems with the content of the error messages shown when attempting modify Watermarks.
- The authentication settings of drivers that were installed by point and print, are lost when a user logs off or restarts the client PC.
- Color images printed in grayscale if "Print all text as black" is enabled.
- Some specific 2-byte characters entered in the Job Type > Document Server > User Name/FileType fields are not retained after the driver is closed.
- Jobs containing Korean characters might result in the wrong font being used or the PCL error "UnsupportedCharacterformat".
- "Increase Auto-keep Settings for Applications" applies to the Raster/Vector setting. After the fix, the Raster/Vector setting will be independent of "Increase Auto-keep Settings for Applications".
- If using a driver that was installed on a Windows 2000 client by point and print, some page objects might be missing from printouts.
- One Click Presets icons might be missing from the UIs of drivers installed on a Windows 2000 client via point and print.
- Added CAT (Catalog) files which were released from Microsoft (WHQL).
PCL Printer drivers are basically a set of small programs able to create an interface between your printer and the operating system on your personal computer. If your printer uses PCL protocol, it is imperative that you install these drivers in order to enjoy the full capabilities of your device.
Although PCL drivers offer a large number of features, they are not recommended for use in high quality printing as they don't reproduce colors precisely.
Printer Command Language or PCL drivers are generally used for home or office printers because they offer very good compatibility (most printers use PCL), give less printer errors and are less demanding on your network connection.
Before installing these drivers, please check to see which the latest version of PCL supported by your printer is.
If your device is PCL capable, and you have selected the correct printer model and OS version, then feel free to hit the download button. Our website is updated daily with new printer and driver versions, so visit us often to keep your device up to date.
It is highly recommended to always use the most recent driver version available.
Try to set a system restore point before installing a device driver. This will help if you installed an incorrect or mismatched driver. Problems can arise when your hardware device is too old or not supported any longer.
