- Improved timecode accuracy.
- Added Anaglyph and 50/50 combining options.
- Fixed 3D Combining in 720p modes (720p50 / 60 only).
- Added ability to switch both Master and Slave to Record or Play mode: press Record button on Master unit to place both units in Record mode (System->Trigger = Remote Record on both units), press Play button on Master unit to place both units in Play mode (System->Trigger = Remote Play on both units). Wait for the “Slave Mode Ok” message and all other mode-switching messages to be completed on the Master unit to indicate that both units have switched modes (allow 30 seconds). Ignore any temporary “Stream Mismatch” messages – this is only a problem if displayed continuously.
- Added ability to save and restore all menu settings in the Master and Slave units, via the System->Create Menu.stg option on each unit. You can save up to 20 settings files onto a single card. To restore your settings, insert a CF card which contains a }CFG{ folder with up to 20 Men.stg files within this folder. (The prefix “Menu” in Menu.stg may be renamed as you prefer. ) You will then be prompted to choose which setting to restore. It is preferable to use the same firmware version on each nanoFlash unit in a 3D set for saving and restoring a given setting. Please note that all settings will be restored except the Unit Id (the 1st 2 digits in the System- >File= option) and the Clip Number (middle 3 digits in System->File= ), which are always preserved and must be changed manually.
- If using the Combine function during live or record mode, the Master unit will display a continuous “Stream Mismatch” message if the 2 incoming streams are not gen-locked, or if they do not otherwise match each other. Temporary “Stream Mismatch” messages at start-up may be safely ignored.
- Fixed premature flashing of record tally warning during record. The tally now flashes appropriately, meaning record tally will flash if there is less than 5 minutes recording time remaining on the Master unit.
- Loop playback now stays in sync over the long term, Master and Slave. Previously, long-term looping playback on occasion would eventually produce the Master and Slave out of sync by 1 frame.
- When stopping a Record session, tally light on the Remote will now give a brief flash after about 1 second to indicate that the button can be released and the recording will stop on both units.
- When combining, on rare occasions the HDMI does not lock properly from Slave to Master, or on rare occasions (on start-up) the colors in the video may be inverted from the Slave to the Master over HDMI – to address either of these cases, simply pull and re-insert the HDMI input to the Master unit.
- Wait at least 5 seconds between 1 Record session and the next, and between 1 Play session and the next. As discussed above, allow 30 seconds to switch from Record to Play mode (by pressing the Play button on the Master unit, which places both units in Play mode), and allow 30 seconds to switch from Play to Record modes (by pressing the Record button on the Master unit, which places both units in Record mode). If a sufficient amount of time is not allowed, the Master and Slave may get out of sync with respect to each other.
- If the nano3D nanoFlashes are separated and used for individual 2D recording, do not use the nano3D firmware. Load the latest nanoFlash firmware from the website for individual 2D recording. Also, do not use the 3D Remote cable on an individual nanoFlash for 2D recording.
Applying a new firmware package on your Video Recorder adapter should improve overall performance and stability, fix various issues encountered with the device, or add support for newly developed features.
The Video Recorder adapter should be carefully upgraded by a power user (that is to say, someone who has the know-how to successfully complete the process), but it can also be performed by an average user at his or her own risk.
Either way, given the fact that each producer has their own method for installing a new firmware, and that every device has a particular way to enter the update mode, you must not consider upgrading the adapter’s software until you have read and thoroughly understood the installation steps.
As a rule, said steps shouldn’t pose too much of a challenge because manufacturers strive to make them as easy as possible. As with everything else, exceptions do occur, and users should be prepared for them.
Usually, you should transfer the compatible firmware to the Recorder through a USB cable or a memory card, and afterwards enter update mode from the unit’s setup menu or through a specific power-on method.
With this in mind, if you intend to apply this release, make sure the package is compatible with your Video Recorder and that it brings about the changes you want or require; hit the download button and apply the new firmware.
Don’t forget to regularly check with our website so that you don’t miss any updates.
It is highly recommended to always use the most recent driver version available.
Try to set a system restore point before installing a device driver. This will help if you installed an incorrect or mismatched driver. Problems can arise when your hardware device is too old or not supported any longer.
