Buffalo TS3410DN NAS Firmware 3.20 Description

Added and Modified Features:

- [RAID] Modified to configure the RAID mode using the spare drive from the initial setup wizard.
- [Email Notifications] Modified not to show the items that are not used for determining the drive error in a drive status notification email.
- [Email Notifications] Modified to show the status by referring to the current S.M.A.R.T. values in a drive notification email.
- [S.M.A.R.T.] Modified to show the status by referring to the current S.M.A.R.T. values in a drive notification email.

Bug Fixes:

- [SMB] Modified to deal with a Samba programming vulnerability (CVE-2017-7494).
- [Drives] Fixed a bug where macOS temp files were not removed even if the "Delete macOS temp files" checkbox is selected during a drive check.
- [Drives] Fixed a bug where drive formatting failed if the drive contains the iSCSI volume created with "File I/O" for the "Backstore" option selected.
- [Drives] Fixed a bug where drive formatting failed while deleting a RAID array.

- [Settings] Fixed a bug where the contextual help was not displayed in the drive list window.
- [Settings] Fixed a bug where access restrictions for shared folders could not be configured by a power user via Easy Admin.

Caution:

- Please consult your local technical support representative if you experience any problems caused by this firmware update.
- Do not turn the unit off until the update is finished. It will take several minutes. You will receive a message when the update is finished.
- USB drives are not mounted automatically after a firmware update. To mount them, unplug and then reconnect them.

How to Use the Updater:

1. Connect the TeraStation properly and configure the TeraStation and a computer to run the updater on the same network subnet. The subnet masks should be the same and the first three numbers of the IP addresses should be the same. The last number of the IP addresses should be different.
For example, if the IP address and subnet mask of the computer are
" 192.168.0.10 , 255.255.255.0 "
and the IP address and subnet mask of the TeraStation are
" 192.168.1.150 , 255.255.255.0 "
then the updater will _not_ work properly.
In this case, reconfigure the TeraStation's IP address and subnet mask to
" 192.168.0.150 , 255.255.255.0 ".
Then they will be on the same subnet and the updater will work properly.
2. Close all applications. Also, stop or exit any firewall software.
3. Extract the downloaded file and run "TSUpdater.exe". When a TeraStation is detected, an update window will open.
4. Select the TeraStation to update if multiple TeraStation are connected.
5. Click "Update" and enter the TeraStation's admin password.
6. Click "OK".
7. Transferring and updating the firmware will start. Wait until it finishes. The info LED will blink during the update.
8. When the update finishes, a message will be displayed.
