Canon VIXIA HF G40 Camcorder Firmware 1.0.1.0 for Mac OS Description

Firmware Version 1.0.1.0 incorporates the following enhancement:

1. An 8Mbps bit rate setting has been added to the MP4 format. (Resolution: 1280x720, Frame rate: 59.94P for NTSC recording and 50.00P for PAL recording.)

Firmware Version 1.0.1.0 is for XA35/XA30, HF G40 camcorders with Firmware Version 1.0.0.0. If your camcorder's firmware is already Version 1.0.1.0, it is not necessary to update the firmware. Once the camcorder is updated to the latest version, it cannot be restored to a previous version.

Preparations for the firmware update:

- After the Firmware update has been performed, the camcorder's menu settings will be reset. It is recommended that users save their menu settings as settings data to an SD card, separate from the one that will be used to carry out the update, before starting update operations. After the firmware update, write the saved settings data back to the camcorder.
- The downloaded folder contains the firmware and instructions on the firmware update procedures. Before starting the firmware update operations, please be sure to carefully confirm your understanding of these instructions.
