Grandstream DP720 IP Phone Firmware 1.0.3.23 Beta Description

IMPORTANT UPGRADING NOTE:

- For DP750/DP720, once upgraded to 1.0.3.23 or above, downgrading to 1.0.3.17 firmware version or lower is not supported.
- For DP750/DP720, once upgraded to 1.0.3.17 or above, downgrading to 1.0.2.16 firmware version or lower is not supported.
- For DP750/DP720, once upgraded to 1.0.2.16 or above, downgrading to 1.0.1.x firmware version or lower is not supported.
- For DP750/DP720, firmware 1.0.0.99 (The first public released beta firmware) and all above can upgrade to 1.0.3.23 directly, no transitional firmware is needed.

ENHANCEMENT:

BUG FIX

- Fixed DP720 did not play busy tone in speaker when handset is in speaker mode
- Fixed DP750 UPnP only able to display one DP device at the same time
- Fixed DP750 IP call cannot be redialed
- Removed “Disable Call Waiting Tone” from Profile page, the settings are now under DECT -> Handset Settings now
- Fixed DP750 Music on hold is not sending correct signal for resume
- Fixed DP750: Self-defined time zone field length is too short, increased it from 32 characters to 64
- Fixed DP750 SIP Registration before expiration field value limit is too small, increased it to 64800

About VoIP Phone Updates:

Firmware updates for VoIP Phones are very important as they usually contain many bug fixes, add new features and updates, as well as add additional security features.

One of the main problems users come across when attempting to upgrade their VoIP Phone is that their device may be locked to a certain Carrier. Adding an unlocked version of the firmware may cause the device to stop working on certain networks. This operation may void your carrier warranty and, as such, is not recommended.

Before downloading, make sure that you have selected the appropriate firmware for your device and that the update supports the VoIP service provider you use.

Generally, it is important to upgrade older firmware in sequence (v1 to v2 to v3) and so on, because many manufacturers don’t launch standalone update packages.

Although using beta release firmware packages is tempting, it can prove to be quite risky as well. If you choose to try beta release updates, please read the detailed firmware notes and make sure that you have the possibility to revert to an older and more stable version in case the beta turns out faulty.
