Linksys LGS326P V1.0 Switch Firmware 1.1.0.21 Description

New functions in the firmware 1.1.0.21

⦁ MSTP- Multiple Spanning Tree Protocol (MSTP) is used to separate the STP port state between various domains (on different VLANs).
⦁ LLPD-MED- LLDP allows devices to advertise themselves and their capability. LLDP-MED is a LLDP extension for media endpoint devices. LLDP and LLDP-MED information are useful for network management and trouble shoot.
⦁ MAC-based VLAN- MAC-based VLAN classification enables packets to be classified according to their source MAC address.
⦁ MAC-based Authentication- It is an alternative to 802.1X authentication that allows network access to devices (such as printers and IP phones) that do not have the 802.1X supplicant capability.
⦁ Security ACL- ACLs enable network managers to define per flow policy (filter and actions) for ingress traffic. Packets, entering the device on a port or LAG with an active ACL, are either admitted or denied entry.
⦁ Access Profile- The access profiles determine how to authenticate and authorize users accessing the device through various access methods. Access Profiles can limit management access from specific sources.
⦁ Per Queue Egress shaping- The function allows a customer to control the traffic sharping on per queue basis. The device can limit the transmission rate of egress frames on a per queue per-port basis. Egress rate limiting is performed by shaping the output load.
⦁ Cable Diagnostic- Copper cable diagnosis.
⦁ RMON- Add three more groups: History, Event and Alarms groups

Issues fixed in the firmware 1.1.0.21

About Switch Firmware:

Given the large variety of models and different methods for upgrading the switch, if you wish to apply this package, we recommend that you read and understand the installation steps before you install a new firmware, even if you are a power user.

Usually the update procedure isn’t much of a hassle as manufacturers try to make it as simple as possible; however, there are cases that are exceptions to this rule. First off, go to the system information page of the switch to check that the currently installed version isn’t either newer or matching this release.

Applying a new firmware can decrease the security vulnerabilities, enhance overall performance and compatibility, improve various power management functions, resolve different errors, and add support for newly developed technologies and protocols.

It is recommended that you perform this step in a steady power environment such as the one ensured by a UPS unit, and that you don’t interrupt the upgrade in any way, because this might cause the switch to malfunction.

That being said, click the download button, get and apply the new version, and check back with our website constantly to stay up to speed with the latest releases.

It is highly recommended to always use the most recent driver version available.

Try to set a system restore point before installing a device driver. This will help if you installed an incorrect or mismatched driver. Problems can arise when your hardware device is too old or not supported any longer.
