FiiO X7 v5 Portable Player Firmware 3.00 Beta Description

Before Upgrade:

- Though this firmware is based on Android 5.1, it still needs time for perfection. Therefore, FiiO has defined it the public beta version. You can choose to upgrade or not according to your personal preference. Also you're welcomed to share your opinions and suggestions about this firmware with FiiO.
- This firmware upgrade can only be realized by burning with the upgrade tool. All data on X7 will be erased after upgrade. So please backup your important data stored on X7's internal storage and remove the SD card before the upgrade.

The FW 3.0 Beta (Android 5.1.1) solves the problems left from the FW2.0 (Android 4.4.4) and adds the following functions:

- No SRC for third-party music applications
- Adopted the incremental media lib update (only new songs will be updated), and added recently played playlist
- Added sorting by alphabetical order (among different languages)/file name/track number /number of tracks in album. (Both ascending and descending are supported)
- Added the Maximum volume and customized volume setting in FiiO music
- Added the continuous volume adjustment when screen-off
- Added the manual OTA upgrade(Technical support->Firmware Update->Online Upgrade, OTA upgrade will be available next time)
- Added instant switch between Android mode and Pure music mode (no reboot required)
- CUE tracks can be added to the playlist direct

Note:

A. Please follow the prompt “Update data, please scan for music first” after update successful.
B.The VU meter is disabled to display when play via Bluetooth. So when changing to play via FiiO Music, it is suggested to go to Next or Prev track or fast forward / rewind to get it display right. The VU meter is disabled to display when playing DSD file as well, but it will be fixed by further firmware.

How to upgrade the X7 firmware:

- Ensure that the X7 is adequately (preferably fully) charged before attempting to upgrade.
- Copy the update downloadable “X7 update.zip” file into the root directory of a FAT32formatted micro SD card in the X7 (or root directory of the X7's internal storage).
- With the SD card in the X7, turn on the X7 in Android mode and select “Support” > Upgrade > external_SD (or internal_SD if you put the file in internal storage) and select X7 update.zip. The following dialog appears:”Confirm upgrading firmware with selected file?” “Cancel OK”
- After clicking “OK”, wait patiently and do not operate the X7. The X7 will automatically restart and enter firmware update mode.
- After the firmware upgrade is complete, the X7 will restart again in normal android mode for use.

Notes and precautions:

- If attempting upgrade using SD card, the SD card should be formatted in FAT32; if upgrade fails, try using a card of 32GB capacity or under, format it using the X7 (back up data on the card first), copy X7 update.zip inside again and attempt upgrade again.
- If attempting upgrade using internal memory, there needs to be adequate free space (preferably over 1GB); copy X7 update.zip to the internal storage and select “internal_SD” for the upgrade.
- Do not push the X7's buttons while the upgrade is in progress.
