Windows XP (32 and 64 bit) Issues

This section provides last minute information on issues that may be experienced when using this release of the ATI FirePro™/FireGL™ Unified Driver on systems running the Windows XP (32 or 64 bit version) operating system. These include the following:

Open Issues

• RedWay: Depth of Field does renders incorrectly, the image may appear
blurred. Tracking number 221004.
• The video preview for certain aspects of the Catalyst Control Center may
appear blank when using an ATI FireGL V5000 series of product. Tracking
number 241050.
• Reduced AutoCAD 2009 benchmarks scores on ATI Fire Pro 3750/3700
adapters. Tracking number 258061.
• RedWay: Incorrect texture - GLstate bleeding between contexts for ARB VP
shader use. Tracking number 234635.
• Running OpenGL applications on a system with two or more monitors connected
and extended desktop mode enabled may intermittently result in the
operating system failing to respond when attempting to change the display
resolution. Tracking number 247909.
• Reduced performance in AutoCAD 2009 with hidden line, gouraud, flat rotate
and DXF out tests. Further details can be found in tracking number 258060.
• Autodesk Mudbox 2009 incorrect shader display or no shading on some models.

• System stops responding while playing DivX at 1280 x 720 resolution with
component video output. Tracking number 259713.

Closed Issues

• Catalyst Control Center, LCD Overdrive may show up as a supported option
on systems
• SolidEdge v19 APC benchmark fails on some RV670 notebooks.
• Catalyst Control Center, using the displays manager to change the display
order may cause the system to stop responding
• Render monkey: mod function returns wrong result
• OpenGL window does not updated when moved when configured for 10 bit
• Vital Images CRE - Rendered images have different background color than
“Gold” images
• Eonsoftware: may fail when rendering a vertex buffer object
• 10% performance drop in viewperf10 3dsmax1 from previous releases
• SoldWorks 2006 SP5.0 in windowed mode may cause the system to stops
responding
• SoldWorks 2006 SP5.0 in windowed mode may cause the system to stops

• Doom3: Play the game in full-screen mode may result in the Windows XP
Professional x64 Edition operating system failing to respond. This issue may
also be experienced when play other OpenGL games
• Systems with a dual FirePro V7750 configuration may become unstable when
running a 3D screen saver
• Doom 3: Connecting four displays to 2 ATI FireMV cards and playing the
game may result in the color settings changing from their default values when
restarting the Windows XP Professional x64 Edition operating system
• Doom3: Enabling extended desktop mode and dragging the game window
from the primary to the secondary display may result in the game failing to
respond

  It is highly recommended to always use the most recent driver version available.

Try to set a system restore point before installing a device driver. This will help if you installed an incorrect or mismatched driver. Problems can arise when your hardware device is too old or not supported any longer.
