HP Fujitsu SAS HDD Firmware HPF2 Rev.A Description

This package provides a firmware upgrade that is specifically designed for Fujitsu Allegro 10LX (model MBA) 15,000-rpm Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) Hard Drives in the supported workstation models running a supported operating system.

NOTE

: The following drive model strings and firmware revision levels, which are visible with most drive inquiry tools, correspond to the drives for which this upgrade is applicable:

- Fujitsu MBA3073RC HPF1
- Fujitsu MBA3147RC HPF1
- Fujitsu MBA3300RC HPF1

HP does not recommend trying to apply this firmware package to drives other than those identified in the preceding list.

This package contains files that are intended to be used with a DOS bootable USB Key Drive. A utility is included that will make a USB Key Drive DOS bootable. The USB Key Drive will contain all the necessary files to update the identified hard drives.

FIXES

:
- Fixes an error that may occur when certain Fujitsu SAS Hard Drives are powered on in a cold environment. If the effected model drives were produced prior to May 2008, they could report errors when first powered on in a cold environment.

PREREQUISITES

:
- Minimum 6-MB USB Key drive.

CAUTION

: All data on the USB Key drive will be deleted when the bootable media is created.

  It is highly recommended to always use the most recent driver version available.
