Bug Fixes
- Fixed a defect such the generator is now able to generate arbitrary waveform after a reboot with the unit previously configured to output arbitrary waveform under last powerup setting.
- Fixed a defect such that the generator’s output state will now be loaded properly when the instrument is configured to power up with last power-up state
- Fixed a defect such that an error message will be prompted when the unit is powered down during the sweep test
- Fixed a defect in which the number of data point is wrongly set and clipped when the command, SENSe:DIGital:WAVeform:POINts is sent
- Fixed a defect such that the frequency readings wouldn’t flip randomly between Hz and kHz
- Fixed a defect in which pressing Return in the List View menu will now return to the last menu
- Fixed a defect to now allow Sweep Edit Points to be selected from the Point Settings soft key menu
- Changed to immediately save any changes of the system settings such as GPIB address, FTP enabled and etcs.to take care of improper shutdown scenarios.
- Resolved graph synchronization issue
- Modified the instrument such that it will stay in the range value that is set during phase measurement when switching to other measurements from phase measurement. Previously, the instrument will automatically revert back to the range value that set before phase measurement when switching to other measurements from phase measurement
- Fixed the crash on DISP:GRAP:TRAC when UI updates are called
- Fixed the crash on DISPlay:WINDow:GRAPh:TRACe1:Y:VAL? when no value is found in trace.
- Fixed a defect on arbitrary waveform generation for large file
- Fixed the hang issue on arbitrary waveform data reading from certain thumb drives when the waveform file size is more than 32 MB
- Fixed a defect such that the wave file saving will now be run for second time onwards
- Fixed a defect on TSA’s phase measurement report generation
- Fixed a defect such that the dual-panel display is now able to display two graphs that run independently. Previously, the graph will not run if both graphs don’t have the same trace enabled.
- Fixed a defect such that the correct harmonic values will now be displayed on Digital interface
- Fixed a defect in such that toggling between system menu page and current menu page by pressing System button on the front panel will now work even though the Utility button is pressed during system mode
- Fixed the incorrect harmonics state after loading state or graph query for Digital and Bluetooth interfaces
- Fixed query status's recall for analyzer and graph during last power-up state or normal state recall

- Changed the Min, Max and Average delay time to be displayed with 5 digits for Voice Quality measurement
- Changed the bandwidth selection on analog interface from 90 kHz to 96 kHz
- Allowed current running voice quality measurement to be aborted
- Changed the single progress box at Test Sequence Application (TSA) to dual-progress box to report sub-progress of measurements
- Stopped user from turning on the generator when the arbitrary file does not exist
- Enhanced the resampling speed of Voice Quality measurement in TSA
- Removed the Gain results from external frequency sweep measurement
- Enabled the export of recorded wave file which has the same sampling rate as the playback wave file in Voice Quality measurement

U8903B firmware upgrade procedures

Perform the following procedure to update the U8903B firmware.
1. Save the firmware update files in an external USB flash storage.
2. Connect the external USB flash storage to the U8903B.
3. Press on the SYSTEM panel.
4. From the System menu page, press the Update softkey.
5. Press the Load File softkey and the recall menu page is displayed to enable you to select the source location.
6. Select the firmware file (xxx.bin) to be updated.
The firmware update process may take 20 minutes to 40 minutes to complete. DO NOT power off the U8903B.

About Device Firmware:

Applying a newer firmware version than the one already installed on your unit can bring various enhancements, include workarounds for diverse problems encountered by the device, and improve or add newly developed features.

On the other hand, downgrading the firmware version can recover the device’s functionality in the event of a software update either turning up faulty or causing the unit’s overall performance to drop. However, bear in mind that applying an older firmware isn’t recommended and might not always be possible.
