Capability of OBSAI LTE-FDD Signal Generator
Zoom In feature in Interference Analyzer to zoom into the spectrum
Dual Active Trace feature n Dual Spectrum to display of two active traces on one chart
Center Frequency for the current measurement updated automatically with uplink and downlink frequency information obtained from MIB & SIB testing o Made it possible to save MIB & SIB ½ information with numeric key “5” (Quick Save)
- Generation of consolidated report with multiple screenshots attached
- Enhancement of Save Result in Cable and Antenna Analyzer
Trace is now saved with a limit line if enabled
- Addition of information to the display of Wi-Fi connection, such as signal strength and frequency
- Fixed the error in Interference Analyzer that did not provide correct GPS information of West when using the Get GPS Potion menu
- Fixed the problem with Auto Leveling that increased the External Offset value beyond the external offset limit (120 dB), if there was no input signal available in RFoCPRI and RFoOBSAI testing. Now it displays an error message of “No Rx signal detected”.
- Eliminated internally generated spurious signals at the low frequency 171.2 MHz by applying new frequency plan to avoid multiplying frequencies
- Fixed the problem in LTE-FDD and LTE-TDD OTA Control by adding Scale/Div menu to the Amp/Scale menu bar
- It is very rare, but changing menus with CPRI source enabled in RFoCPRI testing can cause the CPRI waveform abnormally displayed.
- In Dual Spectrogram in RFoCPRI, the time cursor reading on the screen does not disappear even after turning off the Time Cursor or releasing the Hold.
- The spectrum logging has time constraints, limiting spectrum logging for maximum 20 hours or so. The minimum capacity of storage needed is 512 Mbytes.
Firmware Upgrade Guide
Step 1. Be ready with a USB flash drive or memory stick with free space of 150 Mbytes or more.
Step 2. Plug in the USB flash drive to a USB port of the computer.
Step 3. Click the latest firmware zip file on the website and save it to the root directory of the USB flash drive. You can also download it directly to your hard drive.
Step 4. Unzip the downloaded file into the root directory. Ensure that there are two files extracted in the root directory of the USB flash drive: one firmware file (*.fw) and one firmware release note (*.pdf).
Step 1. Take the flash drive out from your computer, and then plug it into the USB Host port on the top side of your device.
Step 2. Power your instrument via the AC-DC adapter.
Step 3. Press the SYSTEM hot key.
Step 4. Select More (1/2) > Upgrade. The file manager window appears.
Step 5. Highlight the new firmware file (.fw) that you have saved in the root directory of your USB flash drive using the rotary knob. You can also touch on the screen.
Step 6. Press the Select soft key. The confirmation dialog box appears
Step 7. Do one of the following:
- Select Cancel to cancel the process and exit without upgrading.
- Select OK to continue upgrading. The instrument starts to install the firmware and the upgrade status pane appears
Step 8. At the completion of the installation, the instrument reboots itself automatically.
- Do NOT remove the USB flash drive from the instrument while installing the firmware. In most cases, the installation will be done within 30 minutes or so although it may take longer than that depending on the number of files to be reconfigured.
Applying a newer firmware version than the one already installed on your unit can bring various enhancements, include workarounds for diverse problems encountered by the device, and improve or add newly developed features.
On the other hand, downgrading the firmware version can recover the device’s functionality in the event of a software update either turning up faulty or causing the unit’s overall performance to drop. However, bear in mind that applying an older firmware isn’t recommended and might not always be possible.
When it comes to the update steps, due to the large variety of devices and numerous ways for installing a new firmware, it is recommended that you carefully read and understand the upgrade steps, and consider applying a different firmware only when you have familiarized yourself with the update method.
As the installation process is most of the times quite risky, this step should be taken by users that have the ability to successfully complete the update; regular users may initiate it at their own risk. Moreover, it’s best that this task be performed in a steady power environment such as the one ensured by a UPS unit.
Therefore, if you consider applying this release, hit the download button, take into account all the aforementioned aspects, and update the device’s firmware. Also make sure you constantly check with our website to ensure that you don’t miss a single new release.
It is highly recommended to always use the most recent driver version available.
Try to set a system restore point before installing a device driver. This will help if you installed an incorrect or mismatched driver. Problems can arise when your hardware device is too old or not supported any longer.
