NETGEAR has been a worldwide provider of technologically advanced, branded networking products since 1996. Our mission is to be the preferred customer-driven provider of innovative networking solutions for small businesses and homes.

New Features and Enhancements:

* A new feature has been added that allows the user to Enable Windows Messenger Support.
* A new Feature has been added that allows the user to manually set the time in the firewall.
* A new feature has been added that allows the user to add Network Time servers by IP address.
* Support has been added for NAT Traversal.

General Note about Upgrade Keys:

When you upgrade your NETGEAR Firewall to a later version of firmware, the Node and VPN upgrades that you have previously entered into the firewall will be preserved.

However, if the firmware is corrupted or erased during the upgrade, you will need to import the preferences file or reenter the upgrade activation keys to reactivate your Node and VPN upgrades. If you are upgrading from 6.0.x.0 firmware and you are a Content Filter subscriber, you will need to load a new filter list after upgrading the firmware.

To load a new filter list, go to the Management Interface of the firewall and click on the Firewall section, then Select the Filter page from the option tree. Click the Download Now button to load a new Content Filter List. After upgrading the firmware, you will not be required to enter any information for your CFL account in to the firewall as the Content Filter subscriptions are handled by the Content Filter List server.

It is highly recommended to always use the most recent driver version available.

Try to set a system restore point before installing a device driver. This will help if you installed an incorrect or mismatched driver. Problems can arise when your hardware device is too old or not supported any longer.
