Kramer VP-747 Presentation Scaler-Switcher Firmware 1.09 Description

The following changes were made in this version:

Modifications:

The HDMI EDID was modified to fix an audio problem with specific PCs:
- Monitor Range Limits was removed from Detailed Timing #4.
- VP-7xx was added to the Monitor Name descriptor.

VP-747 Firmware Upgrade Procedure

1. Acquire xxx.brit file with the required version of firmware.
2. Copy this file to the route directory on any USB readable memory device (disk-on-key, flash memory card etc.).
3. Plug the device with the firmware file into one of the USB connectors on the rear panel of the VP-747 and switch on the scaler.
4. Wait until the scaler boots up and verify that the Preview and the Program outputs are set to different inputs. Not necessary to have real signals on the selected inputs.
5. Use OSD menu to navigate to
Utility>Misc Setting>Firmware Download
6. Press ENTER button. If the OSD opens list of files – skip the following step and continue with the step 8 below.
7. If the OSD doesn’t open list of files – press Take button to swap the Preview and the Program inputs. Repeat the steps 5 and 6 above.
8. Use UP and DOWN arrows to highlight the required firmware file and press ENTER button.
9. Confirm the upgrade and wait until progress indicator gets to 100%.
10. Remove the device with the firmware file from USB connector and restart the scaler by recycling the power.
11. Plug the device with the same firmware file into second USB connector on the rear panel of the VP-747 and repeat the above procedure.
