NETGEAR GS752TX Switch Firmware 6.6.0.14 Description

New Features and Enhancements:

- Option to enable/disable debug telnet session under ‘Maintenance > Troubleshooting > Remote Diagnostics’ page. Default: disabled.
- To improve PoE interoperability for S3300-28X-PoE+/S3300-52X-PoE+, the embedded PoE code is updated with FW v6.6.0.14. PoE code will get upgraded automatically after booting with v6.6.0.14 for the first time.
- Please wait several minutes for PoE code to get updated after power-cycle. During this time, no PoE power will be provided.

Fixed Issues:

- Fixed the issue where the protected ports become pingable from each other when VLAN routing is enabled.
- Fixed the issue where in some rare cases, stack unit might restart with a logged reason - due to parity error in L2_ENTRY table.
- Fixed the issue where the 10G Copper port will link down when green ethernet EEE mode is enabled while its connecting device supports only 1G speed.
- Fixed the issue where the L3 forwarding fails when S3300 is connected to M5300 through redundancy dynamic LAG.
- Fixed the issue where the CPU performance is significantly impacted when DHCP persistent configuration is being backup to remote TFTP server.
- Fixed the issue where the Crash log file uploaded through TFTP protocol is with incomplete contents.

Known issues:

- RPS/AC hot swap sometimes (quickly unplug/plug) does not take effect after plugging back the APS1000W power cord.
- [Workaround]: re-plug the APS1000W power cord slowly.
- Console hang happens in S3300 device, if we press the reset button repeatedly during reload.
- [Workaround]: Power cycle the switch. Customer needs to be cautious not to press reset button multiple times during boot stage.

Notes:

- The released zip contains switch firmware (.stk) and MIB files. User needs to unzip it to retrieve the switch image itself for upgrade.
- Please download v6.6.0.14 to both active and inactive (backup) images when upgrading from v6.4.0.x.
- Downgrading from v6.6.0.14 to v6.4.0.x is not allowed.

Limitations:

- EAV (Ethernet Audio Video) feature only supported on a standalone S3300 switch. Standalone here means that all four 10G stacking ports are running in Ethernet mode.
- Only the smart switch that functions as the master unit (either standalone switch or master switch in a stack) can detect and manage an attached USB device.
- The USB device must support USB 2.0.
- The USB device must support the FAT32 or VFAT file type. The NTFS file type is not supported.

About Switch Firmware:

Given the large variety of models and different methods for upgrading the switch, if you wish to apply this package, we recommend that you read and understand the installation steps before you install a new firmware, even if you are a power user.

Usually the update procedure isn’t much of a hassle as manufacturers try to make it as simple as possible; however, there are cases that are exceptions to this rule. First off, go to the system information page of the switch to check that the currently installed version isn’t either newer or matching this release.

Applying a new firmware can decrease the security vulnerabilities, enhance overall performance and compatibility, improve various power management functions, resolve different errors, and add support for newly developed technologies and protocols.

It is recommended that you perform this step in a steady power environment such as the one ensured by a UPS unit, and that you don’t interrupt the upgrade in any way, because this might cause the switch to malfunction.

That being said, click the download button, get and apply the new version, and check back with our website constantly to stay up to speed with the latest releases.

It is highly recommended to always use the most recent driver version available.

Try to set a system restore point before installing a device driver. This will help if you installed an incorrect or mismatched driver. Problems can arise when your hardware device is too old or not supported any longer.
