Vaio PCG-505E USB mouse driver 4.0.1381.1 Description

Where can I find the Windows 98 driver for VAIO USB mouse (PCGA-UMS1)?

Solution:

1. Driver update for VAIOs:

This update program allows you to install the appropriate driver for Windows 98 and Windows 98SE. Please follow the instructions carefully to avoid any problems during the downloading and installation procedure.

NOTES:

* Make sure to connect your VAIO USB mouse before installing the driver.
* If the mouse is not connected, the Button tab may not appear on the screen even after installation.
* The contents of the dialog box may differ depending on your VAIO.

2. New functions

The following tabs will be added in Mouse Properties.

1. The Button tab You can set up functions for each button.
2. The Wheel tab You can easily change the scrolling speed.
3. The Pointer Utility tab The Sonar function setup will help you find the pointer and the Pointer Vanish function will automatically make the pointer invisible when you begin typing on the keyboard. The X-Focus setup will make the window active by simply moving the pointer over the title bar of a window.
4. The Others tab Setting up to display the Mouse icon in the Task tray.

3. Checking your driver and driver version.

1. Connect the mouse to your VAIO.
2. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
3. Double-click Mouse - The Mouse Properties dialog box now appears.
4. If the Button tab is present, it is the latest driver and will not need updating.

NOTE: Some VAIO notebooks may have an internal Button tab for the pointing device. If you cannot find a Button tab, or if you only find the Button tab for the internal pointing device, you may have an old driver installed or improper driver installed. Follow the instructions below to download the latest driver:

2. Download the Optional USB mouse driver file into the Download folder.

5. If the size is different, delete the file you have downloaded and proceed with the download again.
6. Use Windows Explorer to find the UMD_sny_4013811.exe file.
7. Double-click the UMD_sny_4013811.exe file, and then follow the on-screen instructions.
