NETGEAR DG824M Gateway Firmware 1.3.03 Description

Modifications and Bug Fixes Version 1.3 Release 03

- Network Time Server (NTP) now works connecting to a PPPoA line.
- Fixed ADSL synchronization problem with some Deutsche Telekom lines.
- Fixed PPPoA disconnect problem with some ISPs.
- Improved stability under heavy traffic loads.
- Maximum MTU size is no longer limited to 1362 bytes.
- Firewall Rules can now contain overlapping ports as long as they are directed to the same server on the LAN

New Features Overview, Version 1.3 Release 03

- Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) was added, and is enabled by default. A check box was added to the Firewall Rules menu page to enable and disable the feature.

Upgrade Instructions:

- Download using the button below to a convenient place such as your desktop.
- Using a browser, login to the router (the default URL is http://192.168.0.1). The user name is admin, and the default password is password.
- Under Maintenance, click Router Upgrade
- Note: When uploading software to the DG824, it is important not to interrupt the Web browser by closing the window, clicking a link, or loading a new page. If the browser is interrupted, the software may be corrupted. When the upload is complete, your gateway automatically restarts.
- Click Browse and locate the file which you just downloaded and extracted.
- Click Upload.
- Wait for the upgrade progress bar to complete and final prompt to appear.
- Reset the modem: Press and hold the Default Reset button until the Test LED turns on (about 10 seconds).
- Release the Default Reset button and wait for the router to reboot.
