New Features:

- ONVIF
Added support for compliant ONVIF 2.2 cameras – Many ONVIF compliant cameras can now be recorded by the NVR.
- Digital zoom
Digital zoom now saved & synced across local and web interfaces – Setting a camera to be digitally zoomed in on either the local or web UI will set that camera to continue to show that level of view across both local and Web UIs in Live view. The NVR will continue to record the full unzoomed video from the camera.
- Mobile App Support
Added support for new features in Mobile App 2.8.5 – New features include high definition stream to mobile app, and full search & playback.
- Fast-Forward/Rewind
The local UI now supports up to x256 fast-forward and rewind.

- Resolved issues related to multiple concurrent remote users.

Known Issues:
- Rewind only supports x8 in the web user interface.
- Sometimes the local screen switches to 4CH view in sequence when an IP Cam Alarm In or NVR External Alarm In is detected.
- Pressing STOP on remote may cause repeated operation.
- In Camera Quick Search on local the UI, clicking the name field will appear to rename the camera to “IP Camera”, but does not actually change the name.

How to Upgrade

Follow these instructions to upgrade your NVR firmware from the web browser interface.
1. Extract the “.bin” file from the firmware upgrade zip file to a known location on your computer. 2. Open a web browser and navigate to the web interface address of your NVR and log in as an administrator. 3. Click CONFIG in the top right corner to navigate to the setup menus.
4. Click System Update in the Config menu.
5. Click Browse under the Firmware Upgrade section.
6. Select the “.bin” file that was saved to your computer in Step 1 and click Open.
7. After the open file window closes, click Upgrade to begin the update.
8. Progress will be displayed during the update.
9. After the status bar reaches 100%, close the browser. Then, reopen it and access the NVR again (settings will not be changed during the update). Confirm that the firmware has been updated by visiting the System Update menu and confirming the current firmware version. The update is now complete.

About NVR Firmware:

Applying a new firmware package on your Network Video Recorder (NVR) should improve overall performance and stability, fix various issues encountered with the device, or add support for newly developed features.

The NVR should be carefully upgraded by a power user (that is to say, someone who has the know-how to successfully complete the process), but it can also be performed by an average user at his or her own risk.

Either way, given the fact that each producer has their own method for installing a new firmware, and that every device has a particular way to enter the update mode, you must not consider upgrading the software until you have read and thoroughly understood the installation steps.

As a rule, said steps shouldn’t pose too much of a challenge because manufacturers strive to make them as easy as possible. As with everything else, exceptions do occur, and users should be prepared for them.

Usually, you should transfer the compatible firmware to the Recorder through a USB cable or a memory card, and afterwards enter update mode from the unit’s setup menu or through a specific power-on method.
