Bragi Left Dash Wireless Smart Earphone Firmware Description

Left Dash
- Remove the Right Dash from The Charger.
- Insert the left Dash in the charger and ensure it is correctly mounted on the MagSnap
- Connect The Charger to the PC with the micro USB cable.
- Press the reset button on The Charger with a short press, about 2 seconds. You can find it on the right side of the Charger (the opposite side of the Mirco-USB-port)
- The Left Dash will mount as a file system with a capacity of approximately 4MB. If it does not mount then remove the Left Dash from the case and reinsert it.
- Copy the left side update file into the root of The Dash file system. Note the left Dash is very slow writing files to its file system, please be patient. It can take 5 minutes to write the file and your PC may give very misleading feedback as it is not used to a file system like this. Just be patient.
- When the copy is done, safely eject The Dash from the PC. It is critical that the firmware update file is copied correctly to the Left Dash.
- Disconnect the charger from USB power and wait. The Dash should start the update within 20 seconds. When the update starts you will see different LED patterns, these are normal, be patient.
- The Dash will blink while the update proceeds, about 5 minutes. If there is no blinking and The Dash continue to breathe regularly, which indicates update did not start, then remove the Left Dash from The Charger for 10 seconds and reinsert it in The Charger so The Dash reset and the update will start.
- When the left Dash returns to breathing remove it from the charger and remove The Charger from USB power.

Install a new software update on The Dash

In case there is a software update available for your Dash, please follow the steps below:
- Click on "Download Update". The download of the software update to your computer will start automatically.
- A file named fwthedash.bra should now be in your download directory.
- Make sure that the downloaded file has the correct name as stated above.
- Copy and paste the fwthedash.bra file onto »The Dash«.
- Safely eject The Dash from your system as you would safely remove a USB drive.
- Disconnect the USB Cable from your computer. This will trigger the update process.
- When The Dash is updating it will start blinking in a blue color for the duration of the update.
- DO NOT remove The Dash from The Charger until the update is complete.
- The update is finished when both left and right Dash start "breathing" (a slow regular pulsation of the LED LightGuide).
- Your Dash is now updated and ready to be used again. Enjoy!

About Device Firmware:

Applying a newer firmware version than the one already installed on your unit can bring various enhancements, include workarounds for diverse problems encountered by the device, and improve or add newly developed features.

On the other hand, downgrading the firmware version can recover the device’s functionality in the event of a software update either turning up faulty or causing the unit’s overall performance to drop. However, bear in mind that applying an older firmware isn’t recommended and might not always be possible.

When it comes to the update steps, due to the large variety of devices and numerous ways for installing a new firmware, it is recommended that you carefully read and understand the upgrade steps, and consider applying a different firmware only when you have familiarized yourself with the update method.

As the installation process is most of the times quite risky, this step should be taken by users that have the ability to successfully complete the update; regular users may initiate it at their own risk. Moreover, it’s best that this task be performed in a steady power environment such as the one ensured by a UPS unit.

Therefore, if you consider applying this release, hit the download button, take into account all the aforementioned aspects, and update the device’s firmware. Also make sure you constantly check with our website to ensure that you don’t miss a single new release.

It is highly recommended to always use the most recent driver version available.

Try to set a system restore point before installing a device driver. This will help if you installed an incorrect or mismatched driver. Problems can arise when your hardware device is too old or not supported any longer.
