Category | Network Ip Surveillance Baby Camera |
Manufacturer | Swann |
File Size | 15.7 MB |
Supported OS | OS Independent |
This version addresses some minor issues and also includes the previous update that enabled dual-recording to improve playback compatibility on mobile phones.
Also included is Swann's first automatic updates system. New firmwares will be notified via the on-screen display on the recorder. Downloading and updating can be accomplished directly from the recorder just by clicking on the notification and accepting the new update.
NB: After updating to this firmware you MUST format your NVR's Hard Disk to enable the new recording format. Failure to do this will prevent the NVR from recording anything from your cameras.
1. After downloading the relevant firmware for your NVR, go to your downloads folder to access the file.
2. As the firmware is zipped, you need to extract it first. Before doing that, connect your flash drive to a spare USB port on your computer.
3. For Windows 7 users, do the following - Right-click the file then click “Extract All”. Select your flash drive to extract to then click “Extract”. For Windows 8, Windows 10 and Mac OS X users, do the following - Double-click the file to open it then drag the file to your flash drive.
4. Insert your flash drive to the NVR’s USB port.
5. In Live View mode, right-click the mouse then click “Menu”.
6. Click “System” then “Maintenance”
7. Click “Upgrade” then select the firmware file. Click “Upgrade” then click “OK” to confirm. 8. An hourglass will appear on-screen. When the firmware upgrade has completed, the NVR will reboot automatically.
9. Complete the Setup Wizard as per the quick start guide included with your NVR. Remove your flash drive from the USB port. 10. To support the new remote playback feature, you must format the hard drive (all video events will be removed). In Live View mode, rightclick the mouse to access the Menu Bar then click “Menu”. Click “Device” then click the checkbox next to the hard drive. Click the “Init” button to format the drive then click “OK” to confirm. The hard drive will now format (an hourglass will appear on-screen). When finished, right-click the mouse to exit.
Applying a new firmware package on your Network Video Recorder (NVR) should improve overall performance and stability, fix various issues encountered with the device, or add support for newly developed features.
The NVR should be carefully upgraded by a power user (that is to say, someone who has the know-how to successfully complete the process), but it can also be performed by an average user at his or her own risk.
Either way, given the fact that each producer has their own method for installing a new firmware, and that every device has a particular way to enter the update mode, you must not consider upgrading the software until you have read and thoroughly understood the installation steps.
As a rule, said steps shouldn’t pose too much of a challenge because manufacturers strive to make them as easy as possible. As with everything else, exceptions do occur, and users should be prepared for them.
Usually, you should transfer the compatible firmware to the Recorder through a USB cable or a memory card, and afterwards enter update mode from the unit’s setup menu or through a specific power-on method.
With this in mind, if you intend to apply this release, make sure the package is compatible with your Network Video Recorder and that it brings about the changes you want or require; hit the download button and apply the new firmware.

It is highly recommended to always use the most recent driver version available.
Try to set a system restore point before installing a device driver. This will help if you installed an incorrect or mismatched driver. Problems can arise when your hardware device is too old or not supported any longer.
