Extron FOX T USW 203 Fiber Optic Transmitter Firmware 1.09 Description

This package provides the necessary installation files of Extron FOX T USW 203 Fiber Optic Transmitter Firmware version 1.09.

Fixes:

- Fixed the difference in white balance levels on analog input issue: Made changes to the calibration default values on the Analog input to match the levels of FOXBOX VGA TX.
- Improved Feature: Auto Output Format removes limited quantization option. When set for “Auto” Output Video Format, the unit used limited quantization range for SMPTE resolutions. To expand the compatibility with a wider range of sink devices, the “Auto” mode now outputs DVI to DVI sink devices, and HDMI RGB 444 Full Quantization to HDMI sink devices, regardless of the set output resolution.
- Fixed issue with HDCP Authorized: When HDCP Authorized was disabled, the setting reverted back to the default value (HDCP Authorized ON) when the transmitter was power cycled. HDCP Authorized now maintains its value when the transmitter is power cycled.
- Added New Rate: Added 1600x900 @ 60 Hz RGBHV to the input table. 1600x900 @ 60 Hz is now automatically detected and set up on the analog inputs. This rate continues to be accepted on HDMI inputs.
- Fixed Embedded Audio issue: The FOX T USW 203 was unable to transmit embedded audio when connected to a FOXBOX RX HDMI using Extron HDMI-PC EDID with 2-CH audio files. The EDID specified 44.1 KHz audio sampling. The EDID now specifies 48 KHz audio sampling.

Installation steps:

1. Open Firmware Loader to establish a connection between the computer and the device. The Add Device... dialog box opens.
2. Select FOX T USW 203 from the Device Name drop-down list.
3. Select the method of connection from the Connection Method drop-down list.
4. Depending on the connection method, additional options appear. Make the appropriate selections for the current connection method.
5. Click Connect.
6. Click Browse in the New File Firmware (Optional) panel. The Open window opens.
7. In the Open window, navigate to the new firmware file, which has an .S19 extension, and click Open.
8. Click Add. The Add Device... dialog box closes and the device and firmware are listed in the Firmware Loader main window.
9. Click Begin to start the upload process.
10. Close Firmware Loader when the Remaining Time field shows 00.00.00 , the Progress column shows 100% , and the Status field shows completed.

ATTENTION:

- Valid firmware files must have the file extension .S19. A file with any other extension is not a firmware upgrade for this device and could cause the device to stop functioning.

About Fiber Optic Transmitter Firmware:

Applying a newer firmware version than the one already installed on your unit can bring various enhancements, include workarounds for diverse problems encountered by the device, and improve or add newly developed features.

On the other hand, downgrading the firmware version can recover the device’s functionality in the event of a software update either turning up faulty or causing the unit’s overall performance to drop. However, bear in mind that applying an older firmware isn’t recommended and might not always be possible.

When it comes to the update steps, due to the large variety of devices and numerous ways for installing a new firmware, it is recommended that you carefully read and understand the upgrade steps, and consider applying a different firmware only when you have familiarized yourself with the update method.

As the installation process is most of the times quite risky, this step should be taken by users that have the ability to successfully complete the update; regular users may initiate it at their own risk. Moreover, it’s best that this task be performed in a steady power environment such as the one ensured by a UPS unit.

Therefore, if you consider applying this release, hit the download button, take into account all the aforementioned aspects, and update the device’s firmware. Also make sure you constantly check with our website to ensure that you don’t miss a single new release.

It is highly recommended to always use the most recent driver version available.

Try to set a system restore point before installing a device driver. This will help if you installed an incorrect or mismatched driver. Problems can arise when your hardware device is too old or not supported any longer.
