- Improved Feature – Improved the stability of VGA input video signal – Wallplate firmware version 1.01.0002 improves the stability of VGA input video signal on the wallplate when the PVS 407D is connected to a certain display models.
- Improved Feature – Improved input channel query – The input channel query after switching has been optimized for more rapid response. Improved Feature – Improved audio mute/unmute state reporting – Firmware will report the state change for output audio mute/unmute and program audio mute/unmute to all communication ports when in verbose modes 1 and 3.
1. Open PVS 407D Product Configuration Software.
2. From the Tools menu, select Update Firmware. Firmware can only be updated via the front panel USB connection. If you are already connected to the device an Update Firmware dialog box opens, requesting disconnection. If you are not connected to the device, the Update Firmware submenu is not available.
3. Click OK. A separate window opens and the details of the device and current installed firmware is acquired.
4. Browse to and select the downloaded firmware file. Valid firmware files have an S19 file extension.
5. Click Open. This returns you to the Update Firmware dialog box.
6. Click Update. The progress bar shows the progress of the firmware upload to the device. After uploading is completed, the device restarts. Reconnection to the device must be made to enable live configuration.
Applying a newer firmware version than the one already installed on your unit can bring various enhancements, include workarounds for diverse problems encountered by the device, and improve or add newly developed features.
On the other hand, downgrading the firmware version can recover the device’s functionality in the event of a software update either turning up faulty or causing the unit’s overall performance to drop.
