Extron IN1608 Presentation Switcher Firmware 2.26.0001 Description

This package provides the necessary installation files of Extron IN1608 Presentation Switcher Firmware version 2.26.0001.

Fixes:

-Issue (originated in v2.01.0016) – DTP inputs (Input 7 or 8) may blink or lose sync when the non-selected DTP input is removed and reconnected –When both DTP inputs were in use, video output of the IN1608 would be lost when one of the two DTP video inputs was removed and/or resumed. The issue is resolved in firmware v2.26.0001.
- Issue (originated in v2.01.0016) – Sharelink 200 video will periodically blink when used with either DTP input on an IN1608 – When a Sharelink 200 product was placed upstream of either of the two DTP input ports on the IN1608, video would periodically blink on the output of the IN1608. The issue is resolved in firmware v2.26.0001.
- Issue (originated in v2.13.0001) – DTS embedded audio (at 192kHz) would not pass – Audio was lost when attempting to pass embedded DTS audio (at 192kHz) through the product. The issue is resolved in firmware v2.26.0001.
- Issue (originated in v1.00.0013) – DTS-HD 7.1 audio would not pass correctly to the output – When connected to a video source with embedded DTS- HD 7.1 audio, the IN1606/IN1608 would incorrectly pass digital noise, no audio, or ‘LPCM 2-Ch’ format to the output. The issue is resolved in firmware v2.26.0001.
- Issue (originated in v1.00.0013) – “Mode-4” reset does not properly re-initialize the network connection on the unit – When performing a “Mode-4” reset via the rear panel reset button the network connection was not properly re-initialized and would fail to apply the new network settings. The issue is resolved in firmware v2.26.0001.
- Issue (originated in v2.24.0005) – Audio level control was not functional on IN1608 IPCP SA HDBT model – The built-in audio amplifier on the IN1608 IPCP SA HDBT unit was unable to be adjusted. The issue is resolved in firmware v2.26.0001.
- Issue (originated in v1.00.0013) – The OSD (On Screen Display) menu would not update with the current IP address when DHCP was enabled – If DHCP was enabled on the unit, the OSD menu would occasionally not update to show the current IP address settings issued by the network. The issue is resolved in firmware v2.26.0001.
- Issue (originated in v2.20.0003) – IN1606 output status LEDs would continue to illuminate green, even if output sync has been muted – When the IN1606 video outputs had been disabled via the Screen Saver mode or the “2B” SIS ‘sync mute’, output status LEDs for any connected display would remain green instead of flashing amber. This issue did not affect the IN1608. The issue is resolved in firmware v2.26.0001.

New features:

- Added Feature – Added command to adjust ‘switch effect duration’ setting – Firmware v2.26.0001 now supports SIS commands to set and read the duration of the switch effect when switching between inputs (‘Esc x EDUR Enter’ to set and ‘Esc EDUR Enter’ to read, where x is the switch effect duration). The setting is determined in 0.1 second increments with a variable range of 2 (0.2 seconds) to 50 (5.0 seconds) and a default setting of 7 (0.7 seconds).
- Added Feature – Added support for ATMOS audio format – All units running firmware v2.26.0001 will now accept and pass embedded ATMOS formatted audio streams.

About Presentation Switcher Firmware:

Applying a newer firmware version than the one already installed on your unit can bring various enhancements, include workarounds for diverse problems encountered by the device, and improve or add newly developed features.

On the other hand, downgrading the firmware version can recover the device’s functionality in the event of a software update either turning up faulty or causing the unit’s overall performance to drop. However, bear in mind that applying an older firmware isn’t recommended and might not always be possible.

When it comes to the update steps, due to the large variety of devices and numerous ways for installing a new firmware, it is recommended that you carefully read and understand the upgrade steps, and consider applying a different firmware only when you have familiarized yourself with the update method.

As the installation process is most of the times quite risky, this step should be taken by users that have the ability to successfully complete the update; regular users may initiate it at their own risk. Moreover, it’s best that this task be performed in a steady power environment such as the one ensured by a UPS unit.

Therefore, if you consider applying this release, hit the download button, take into account all the aforementioned aspects, and update the device’s firmware. Also make sure you constantly check with our website to ensure that you don’t miss a single new release.

It is highly recommended to always use the most recent driver version available.

Try to set a system restore point before installing a device driver. This will help if you installed an incorrect or mismatched driver. Problems can arise when your hardware device is too old or not supported any longer.
