- Basic support to btrfs
- Firmware Upgrader now optionally checks firmware file integrity using SHA1
- Most packages in the base firmware have been updated to their latest version, disk installable packages will follow, make your request.
- The ntp package was removed from firmware, due to lack of flash memory space, and is replaced by busybox ntpd.
- The All-F folder for disk-installable packages can now be de-activated or moved to another filesystem
- Most servers which were under inetd control can now be run standalone
There are some pending issues when making the transition from inetd to server mode and vice-versa.

- The orange disk leds will be turned on when (some) detected system errors are detected.
- Fix installed/pre-installed packages version conflict when firmware upgrade is detected
- On the Firmware Upgrade webUI of previous releases the TryIt button will not be able to try this release, you have to flash it.
- https, provided through stunnel, can fail the first time when in server mode; stopping and restaring the stunnel service is usually enough to recover.
- The webUI does not supports disks reporting 4KB logical sector size; disks with 4KB physical sector size and reporting 512 bytes logical sizes, the majority, works fine.
- when upgrading some packages (rsync) its configuration files might be overwritten
- When using https the webUI can't embed some external or running services http web pages
(and most https servers disable embedding for security reasons)
- smartd now displays errors on the Status page, but migh fail on its first start, use Submit in Services->System->smart->Configure to fix.

- the cryptodev package is not working on the DNS-327
- to upgrade the kernel-modules package, the kernel-modules-armv5 package must be installed first
- the kernel-modules package don't automatically install/un-install the appropriate kernel-modules-armv5 or kernel-modules-armv7 package, you have to install/un-install them.
- If upgrading from previous releases, the ntp package will appear as installed, it can safely be removed.
- Reboot the box before performing any upgrade.
- Save current settings to a desktop computer (System->Settings, in the
"Computer Disk" section, "Save current settings to file" hit the Download button)
- Look at the box bottom attached label to see its hardware revision level, then select the appropriate Alt-F-0.1RC5 bin file and use the normal firmware upgrade method to flash it.
For example, the Alt-F-0.1RC5-DNS-320-rev-Ax.bin file is to be used on the DNS-320 on any rev-A1, A2 or A3 box. Don't try to flash firmware if your box is not supported.
- When alternating between D-Link and Alt-F firmware clear the browser cache. The box name and IP might also change.
Upgrading the Network-Attached Storage (NAS) firmware can improve the system’s overall performance, stability, and security by adding various fixes for related issues, enhancing existing features (or adding support for new ones), or updating different applications.
Due to the high number of NAS manufacturers, as well as network storage types, installing a new firmware might not be always as easy as it appears – and not too safe either. Failing to perform a software update can cause serious malfunctions to the network storage.
So, before you even consider applying this release, carefully read the installation guide and initiate the process only when you have understood and completely familiarized yourself with all the steps.
Moreover, it would be best if you take into account using a UPS unit (Uninterruptible Power Supply) to perform this task, because no power disruption should affect the upgrade.
With all these aspects in mind, after you have read the installation guide, click the download button to apply this firmware version to your NAS. Remember to check back with our website in order to stay up to speed with the latest releases.
It is highly recommended to always use the most recent driver version available.
Try to set a system restore point before installing a device driver. This will help if you installed an incorrect or mismatched driver. Problems can arise when your hardware device is too old or not supported any longer.
