Hasselblad CFV-50 Digital Back Firmware R370 Description

This package contains firmware version R370 for the products: H4D-40, H4D-50, H4D-50MS, H3DII-50, H3DII-50MS, H4D-200MS & CFV50.

Fixes:

- H4D-40: Possible to select lower preview resolution to get a higher number of captures per minute.
- Support for UDMA7 CF cards (up to 128 GB)
- Solves a possible problem with a faint magenta cast on long exposures with CFV-50
- Improved stability in the Multi-shot sequence

Installation steps:

1. Unzip the downloaded file.
2. Make sure your camera is turned on.
3. Connect your complete camera, including the capture unit, lens and viewfinder to Phocus. 4. Go to "File" and then "Update Firmware" and locate the desired firmware package (firmware_R370.cim) on your computer, and click "Update".
5. Follow the instructions provided from the software carefully! Do not switch off the camera during the update process, unless specifically requested by the Phocus software.
6. When the update has been finalized, please restart your camera and check that the firmware has been successfully updated

Important notice:

- Manual updating of firmware is available in the Phocus software, from version 2.7 Mac and 2.7 Windows. However, please use the latest version of Phocus for firmware updating. For Windows it is strongly recommended to use the 64 bit version.
- During the upgrade procedure do NOT disconnect the FireWire cable until prompted!
- Unintentionally removing the FireWire cable during the firmware download procedure could in worst case render the camera useless which would require the need for authorized service.

About Digital Camera Firmware:

Applying a newer firmware version than the one already installed on your unit can bring various enhancements, include workarounds for diverse problems encountered by the device, and improve or add newly developed features.

On the other hand, downgrading the firmware version can recover the device’s functionality in the event of a software update either turning up faulty or causing the unit’s overall performance to drop. However, bear in mind that applying an older firmware isn’t recommended and might not always be possible.

When it comes to the update steps, due to the large variety of devices and numerous ways for installing a new firmware, it is recommended that you carefully read and understand the upgrade steps, and consider applying a different firmware only when you have familiarized yourself with the update method.

As the installation process is most of the times quite risky, this step should be taken by users that have the ability to successfully complete the update; regular users may initiate it at their own risk. Moreover, it’s best that this task be performed in a steady power environment such as the one ensured by a UPS unit.

Therefore, if you consider applying this release, hit the download button, take into account all the aforementioned aspects, and update the device’s firmware. Also make sure you constantly check with our website to ensure that you don’t miss a single new release.

It is highly recommended to always use the most recent driver version available.

Try to set a system restore point before installing a device driver. This will help if you installed an incorrect or mismatched driver. Problems can arise when your hardware device is too old or not supported any longer.
