Cisco RV215W Router Firmware 1.2.0.14 Description

Enhancements in Firmware Version 1.2.0.14

- Support for saving configuration files, syslog files, VPN certificates, and firmware to a USB flash drive. NTFS format is not supported.
- Support for adjusting 3G and Ethernet failover priority.
- Support for configuring a DNS field as the recovery and failover validation site. Note that the connection validation site is changed to the gateway after upgrade. Some ISP gateways block ping requests intentionally. Use the DNS field or a customized IP address for link detection.
- Support for configuring 3G recovery ping times.
- Support for VPN redundancy.
- Support for automatic firmware upgrade.
- Support for Dynamic DNS updates at the following intervals: Never, Weekly, Semi-Monthly, and Monthly.
- Support for 3G Diagnostics.
- Improvement in the Upgrade from USB feature.

Issues Resolved in Firmware Version 1.2.0.14:

- The PFS option is always disabled, even if it is enabled by using the GUI. The VPN peer must disable PFS to establish VPN tunnel. (CSCue85378)
- System continuously reboots when trying to use a USB drive to restore a configuration. (CSCue88474)
- The connection does not always failover to the Ethernet WAN link when the 3G connection fails, often when device is in IPv4/IPv6 Dual Stack mode. (CSCue72776)
- When port-based QoS is enabled, the queue schedule does not work on the LAN4 port and the ratio of passed traffic is incorrect. (CSCuf24392)
- When users configure one or more port forwarding settings with Port Translation, the access to the internal server works for a period of 24 hours to one week and then fails. (CSCuf03879)
- IPsec tunnel is not updated with the new IP address of the WAN port when using FQDN as the remote gateway in the VPN policy. The other end of the tunnel continues to retry the connection using the old IP address and the connection fails. (CSCul37376)
- The device must connect to the DDNS server at least once every 24 days to avoid expiration. (CSCuj95957)
- HTTP throughput is lower than other TCP throughput. (CSCuj00170)
- LAN DHCP setting cannot be saved properly if the netmask length is 27-20. (CSCug99674)
- VPN IPsec does not accept 0 as the last octet. (CSCuh20473)

About Router Firmware:

Before you consider downloading this firmware, go to the system information page of the router and make sure that the currently installed version isn’t either newer or matching this release.

Due to the large variety of router models and different methods for upgrading the device, it is highly recommended that you read and, above all, understand the installation steps before you apply the new firmware, even if you are a power user.

In theory, these steps shouldn’t be much of a hassle for anyone, because manufacturers try to make them as easy as possible, even if they don’t always succeed. Basically, you must upload the new firmware to the router through its administration page and allow it to upgrade.

If you install a new version, you can expect increased security levels, different vulnerability issues to be resolved, improved overall performance and transfer speeds, enhanced compatibility with other devices, added support for newly developed technologies, as well as several other changes.

If you’re looking for certain safety measures, remember that it would be best if you perform the upload using an Ethernet cable rather than a wireless connection, which can be interrupted easily. Also, make sure you don’t power off the router or use its buttons during the installation, if you wish avoid any malfunctions.

If this firmware meets your current needs, get the desired version and apply it to your router unit; if not, check with our website as often as possible so that you don’t miss the update that will improve your device.

It is highly recommended to always use the most recent driver version available.

Try to set a system restore point before installing a device driver. This will help if you installed an incorrect or mismatched driver. Problems can arise when your hardware device is too old or not supported any longer.
