Dovado Tiny AC Router Firmware 9.0.2 Description

A major firmware update version 9.0 is now available for the Dovado Universal Access Routers! Lo and behold, you are now owner of a completely redefined router! Far more features and enhancements have been introduced, such as Wireless Range Extender, VLAN-tagging, QR-code for WiFi settings/passphrase, along with plenty more! The router menu now also contains Swedish as language, and not just in the Setup Wizard. We are a Swedish brand after all!

Fixes & Enhancements:

- Solved an issue with Huawei E398/E392 modems not connecting. (TINY AC)

New Layout Features:

- Swedish added as language (in addition to English) throughout the menu, and not just Setup Wizard.

New WiFi Features:

- Universal Access Routers (PRO AC & TINY AC) now contain Wireless Repeater / Range Extender functionality. They can repeat/extend on both 2.4 and 5 GHz frequency bands at the same time, regardless if the sources are two separate networks. Only one source network however can provide Ethernet connectivity to devices connected on the LAN port(s). Ideally, it's great for boosting coverage within a home without adding an extra network behind the one you currently have.
- Guest WiFi Support, offering a secondary isolated wireless network, with a separate passphrase for your guests.
- Possible to print your WiFi settings, the page includes the WiFi SSID, passphrase and QR-code (barcode app is needed to scan the QR-code in your phone)
- Multiple SpotBoost profiles with automatic handover between profiles; handy when switching locations as router will search for previously saved SpotBoost profiles.
- Reset button at the back of the router can also be configured to act as a WPS button for quick wireless passphrase pairing. No need to type in a key manually. (PRO AC)

New Networking Features:

- VLAN support on the Ethernet WAN link.
- TINY AC can now convert its Gigabit Ethernet WAN port into a secondary LAN port. (Tiny AC)
- No need to restart the router after applying Port Forwarding changes.
- Force DNS; it is possible to redirect all DNS requests to the router.
- Remote Access login port can now be specified.
- The host page has been updated to show if clients are connected to the 2.4/5 Ghz WiFi or LAN Ports. The router will also identify if you have any Dovado devices on your network (handy for Wireless Repeater/Range Extender management).

New Data Traffic Counter Features:

- It is possible to configure in which time interval the router should count traffic (certain countries offer unlimited data at night).
- Free selection of data quota for SMS/Email notification intervals.
- Possible to reset individual SIM card data counters.

New Automation Features:

- Scheduling the On/Off power state of the USB port(s).
- Add support for Settings Parameters on Z-Wave Nodes.
- Add support for AEON LABS LED Bulb.
- Ability to reset a Z-Wave network.

New Positioning Features:

- OsmAnd tracking protocol added, compatibility tested against Traccar tracking server https://www.traccar.org

Miscellaneous Features:

- 4G/LTE Manual Frequency Selection for HiLink modems.
- Added 4G preferred as Network Mode.
- Possibility to set FTP root.
- Add support for upgrading the router via ZIP files, no need to unzip the file.

New USB Modems:

4G USB Modems:
- D-Link DWM-222

About Router Firmware:

Before you consider downloading this firmware, go to the system information page of the router and make sure that the currently installed version isn’t either newer or matching this release.

Due to the large variety of router models and different methods for upgrading the device, it is highly recommended that you read and, above all, understand the installation steps before you apply the new firmware, even if you are a power user.

In theory, these steps shouldn’t be much of a hassle for anyone, because manufacturers try to make them as easy as possible, even if they don’t always succeed. Basically, you must upload the new firmware to the router through its administration page and allow it to upgrade.

If you install a new version, you can expect increased security levels, different vulnerability issues to be resolved, improved overall performance and transfer speeds, enhanced compatibility with other devices, added support for newly developed technologies, as well as several other changes.

If you’re looking for certain safety measures, remember that it would be best if you perform the upload using an Ethernet cable rather than a wireless connection, which can be interrupted easily. Also, make sure you don’t power off the router or use its buttons during the installation, if you wish avoid any malfunctions.

If this firmware meets your current needs, get the desired version and apply it to your router unit; if not, check with our website as often as possible so that you don’t miss the update that will improve your device.

It is highly recommended to always use the most recent driver version available.

Try to set a system restore point before installing a device driver. This will help if you installed an incorrect or mismatched driver. Problems can arise when your hardware device is too old or not supported any longer.
