The goal of the OpenBOOX project is to provide an alternative firmware version for the Boox60 eReader from Onyx International.

The update.upd file is a full update containing bootsplash, kernels and root filesystem. The support files (fonts, handwriting, tts, etc.) have to be taken over from an official firmware version (A60).
