: The following drive model strings and firmware revision levels, which are
visible with most drive inquiry tools, correspond to drives for which this
upgrade is applicable:
- SEAGATE ST373455SS, HPS1, HPS2, HPS3
- SEAGATE ST3146855SS, HPS1, HPS2, HPS3
- SEAGATE ST3300655SS, HPS1, HPS2, HPS3
- This firmware package runs in a DOS environment.
- A bootable USB drive key is required.
- A utility is included that will make a USB drive key bootable.
- The firmware package files are then copied to the bootable USB drive key.
- Boot the system from the USB drive key and follow the on screen
instructions.
HP does not recommend trying to apply this firmware package to drives other
than those identified in the previous list.

- Provides a general firmware maintenance release that includes numerous fixes
and enhancements that have become available since the last firmware release.
This is a recommended firmware update.
- Requires a USB drive key.
1. Download the file by clicking the "Download" or "Obtain Software" button and
saving the file to a folder on your hard drive (make a note of the folder where
the downloaded file is saved).
2. Double-click the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions.
3. Navigate to the directory where the SoftPaq contents are saved, and follow
the instructions in the README.txt file.
It is highly recommended to always use the most recent driver version available.
Try to set a system restore point before installing a device driver. This will help if you installed an incorrect or mismatched driver. Problems can arise when your hardware device is too old or not supported any longer.
